But until and unless we get right with God morally, we’ll remain in His doghouse with His wrath falling on us. We can’t elect a pragmatic economic conservative and hope to turn things around. God is not mocked, and we’re mocking Him big time with our disobedience.

There’s therefore NOTHING more important to both personal and national blessing than to praise and glorify God. If we do that, all the economic blessings will be added unto us. See Matthew 6:33 in context.

Our Founders understood the simple formula for both individual and national blessing: Obedience to God. That’s why they purposefully wrote all our laws to be indistinguishable from God’s commands. And profoundly blessed we were, going from a tiny 13 colonies to a prosperous superpower. That prosperity is now gone, due to God’s wrath at our depraved disobedience to His Word. Disobedience to God has profoundly wrathful consequences. But we’re apparently not bright enough nowadays to realize what it would take to once again garner’s God’s blessings.

Making gay marriage a litmus test simply diminishes the importance of other issues which are truly important politically for the country.

It is a perversion of the Constitution, not a small matter when you think about it.

I’m just not sure that God is as much of an activist as you are in regard to wanting religious issues to become campaign issues.

I’m more into the “Render unto Caesar” viewpoint. I grew up in Texas where the difference between ‘full immersion’ and ‘sprinkling’ kept folks apart—good god-fearing folks all, mind you—but they really really thought their neighbors were going to Hell if they didn’t agree on that particular religious issue.

Now I hope you don’t consider my response as depraved disobedience to His word just because I don’t rely on you as a conduit direct from God.

Let’s both have a blessed day in our own way.

I agree that any perversion of the Constitution is not a small matter. While I’ve studied the Constitution somewhat, I’m not as clear as you as to where gay marriage is included in the wording thereof. IMO the Founders probably never considered gay marriage—or marriage of any kind—as a function of the Federal government under their Document. I looked and can’t find the word marriage anywhere.

So please save me some time and give me your knowledge as to where the this subject is located in the Constitution. And I’m sort of a semi-strict constructionalist so don’t give a citation where it is inferred by your interpretation.

Read The Death of Common Sense.

Congress is given the power to make laws and they have. The Supreme Court has taken upon themselves the power of final arbiter of the Constitution, Congress has let them.

Marriage as a tradition was never challenged but women were little more than chattel under tradition, now they have rights, they can even vote.

Six Thousand years and the understanding of what a Marriage is didn't come into question until queers gained acceptance in the court system.

Some good polemical stuff in your latest post, but nothing about marriage in the Constitution, right?

So your post on “peversion of the Constitution” was a perversion of the facts.

OK, I get it. You are hyped on the subject, but I’m just not as hyped. I don’t support gay marriage, but I don’t think it is the end of the world either. Gay marriage isn’t going to change my morality or yours, eh?

So if it isn’t gonna directly affect either of us, let’s get hyped about subjects and issues that will impinge on the country more directly and not some religious sideshow.

Sure it is right there next to the Abortion on demand clause, Income Tax Clause, EPA Clause, Wilderness theft clause.......

Your arguments are a lot like that great looser Barry Goldwater and they were rejected for the reasons you protest. Jefferson was wise but not infallible.

I made a decision some time ago not to debate with anyone who doesn’t know the difference between ‘lose’ and ‘loose’ since a requirement for intelligent debate is the ability to use English words with some precision.

Goodbye.

the ability to use English words with some precision The Founders made good use of the English Language, too bad you can't find what you want in the Constitution they gave us.

Lose, loose is a typo, your arguments are just flawed. When you argument is weak just argue grammar or spelling.
