I agree. The NWS forecast is pretty serious. If the 3 ft. of snow materializes, with 60+ mph winds behind it, it is not going to be fun, esp. if power outages become widespread in metro areas.
(NWS-Boston says the winds may hit 80 mph along Eastern Cape Cod.)
One reason I’d NEVER live in an apt. in a city is because of the near impossibility of taking care of my family for very long if the system breaks down and stays down — as was seen to some degree with Sandy.

I loved a good snow storm when I was young. It only took about an inch to bring the DC area to a halt, and the last winter I lived there we had a storm that dropped 2-3 feet. The stopped everything for three days.
I feel deprived not getting to watch snow fall. It’s 65 degrees here in SoCal tonight and snow isn’t on the horizon.

I’m jealous, I love weather events. My son lives in Brooklyn, maybe I’ll call him.

I’m trying not to be intimidated by the 57 million feet of snow coming and of course I am prepped, but that does sound like a lot! I’m staying off the roads.

There is nothing as nice as wood stove heat ....wonderful!Actually, the sun is way better than a wood stove but I get your point. Not trying to rub it in but the sun on my patio was perfect today.
I admit it would be kinda fun to see all that snow.

Pshaw! That's only 10,795 mile deep snow!
We're going to need a bigger snow shovel.

Its a common joke here in Indiana that everyone has to rush out for milk, eggs, and bread everytime the forecasters predict so muchwhy is it that when bad weather is in the forcast, everyone gets a hankern for French toast?

The big concern in Boston today is hoping the storm holds off until after the Patriots ‘going away party’.

Well here in snow country I still prefer a wood stove when the storms howl for sure.
There was zero sun on my deck today....but already a few inches of snow accumulation...and it’s still falling.

I lived in Providence for a time so I know how New England winters can be. I doubt the storm will hold off for long...here we’re alread at about 4 inches and falling still.
