The stupid, it burns, it burns.

Really, would it not be far better to round up politicians, “civil planners”, etc and simply throw them off of roofs?

ninety.....trillion? I think the alleged plan is simply to make a one worlder policy position ....seem slightly less egregious..

raising 90 million dollars out of thin air would be somewhat problematic at this point//

When Gore is willing to put his entire fortune into one of these brilliant ideas, along with moving into a 700 sq ft apartment & live without cars or airplanes, then I’ll believe he’s actually serious. Until then...

Here's one way to solve global warming: Spend $90 trillion (£59 trillion) over the next few years to redesign all the cities — as in all the cities on earth — so people live in more densely packed neighborhoods and don't need cars.

I wish we would stop emulating the Soviet Union in ABSOLUTELY every way.

Absolutely terrible idea! The modernists tried this before and after WWII. Most of our cities were destroyed as a result. Governments and developers have no idea about the fine grained exigencies of every day city life. They can only solve a few variables and everything else gets obliterated.

The proposal is one of the kind of things one expects at Davos and simultaneously one of the kind of things that makes Davos a waste of time as far as real material objectives.

Davos is purely a giant meet and great confab of business, bankers, investors and politicians and NOTHING done at Davos has ever amounted to a hill of beans in any material sense.

Heck, I'll do that and all the "social activists" too for a lousy $1 trillion.

The great thing about improbably large mega projects is: someone capable of funding it will give you a tiny percentage of that price tag just to do initial research and proposals - an amount big enough to comfortably find a small team for years.

Is global warming really the biggest threat to the civilized world, such a big threat that we have to devote so many resources to it???

Does ISIS care about their carbon footprint? Is the issue of global warming something that the Muslim world can get behind????

HA! HA! HA! HA! Oh, brother!

Looks like they had to come up with an idea on how to spend really big amounts of money and this is the result. And why do they need to spend really big amounts of money? How else are they going to drain the bank accounts and assets of every man, woman and child alive? Enslave the world. Third world dystopia for everyone. Only the rich and beautiful people can be free.

OTOH, if STUPID was a salable commodity, the attendees at Davos could raise $19 trillion from the product of this conference alone.

“The mistake we made in Mexico was to let cities develop however they want, and it’s a mess,’ Calderon told Business Insider.”

It’s a mess to him and other elites who seek a legible city (easier to control) but I bet they work for the people who built them. I wonder if Calderon sees himself in the Lord Business (the villain in Lego Movie).
