How about 40% of companies listed on US stock exchanges are gone under Obama. There are now more people receiving government benefits then are working in the private sector.
Let’s keep it simple.
My wife and I bought New York strip steak in the grocery store yesterday. The reason we did is not that we are doing so well we could afford what used to be just about the most expensive beefsteak normally found in an everyday store but because it was the same price as the damned ground beef! Actually I think it was a few pennies lower per pound! Just under seven dollars per pound for either one. When steak is cheaper than hamburger I buy the steak. If it gets a lot cheaper I will grind my own beef if I want to make a hamburger.
Does anything in this Bizarro World make sense any longer?
At my age when anyone claims that we are better off economically I have one simple question. Why is it that when I turned 23 I already had an honorable discharge from the US Navy and a Navy electronics certificate, had been working for two years in the manufacturing engineering department of a bearing plant, was driving a new Mustang which I bought with my own money, was earning a salary and benefits equivalent to somewhere in excess of seventy five thousand dollars a year in today’s inflated fiat money and yet I was considered a FAILURE simply because I was still single rather than having a wife and children already at 23?
No, I am not exaggerating, that was life in South Carolina in 1967.
