I understand the need for more “Mohammed cartoons” to come out and go viral.
I am anxious for a modern-day Crusade to be waged...
Choudary in his college days.
Ah, Woodpecker cider and Mayfair magazine. Memories.
The oft criticized effort at nation building in Iraq by Bush 43 was no naive starry-eyed do-gooder effort. Bush and Cheney both understood perfectly well that the existential battle between Islam and the West would eventually become one of total extermination of one or the other. They also understood that even after 9/11 the public, not just of the US but of the entire Occident would not understand this
They believed though that they owed it to humanity and history to try something else, something short of cataclysm, and that was to establish some secular beachhead where a reform version of Islam might take root. Iraq was judged a logical location since the population there was largely (by Middle Eastern standards, urbane and literate. Radical Islam had been repressed by the Saddam regime. If any Middle Eastern population could be reformed it was the Iraqis.
Alas, because of the weak and perfidious bastard Obama and his ilk our effort there conclusively has failed. Perhaps it was doomed to failure regardless. But having been tried and failed the trajectory is set and the end stage all but inevitable. The coming war may not start in earnest in our lifetimes. The dark forces are still busy breeding and gathering their strength. But it certainly will come to our children and grandchildren.
Islam (as it currently exists) or the West must be annihilated. “Coexistence” is a liberal delusion. The only off ramp from this path is the rise of an Islamic Luther or Calvin to lead their own Reformation. Currently they seem to be beheading any potential candidates. They will have to wage their own Thirty Years War. Maybe what emerges on the other side will be something with which we can ‘Coexist’.
But I’m not putting any money on it.
