It is good that the SWAT team went in to shoot the guy after he started killing hostages, that is better than staying outside.
Thank you, Sydney law enforcement!
I am so sorry to all the citizens of Sydney and mourn and pray for the victims. I wish you didn’t have to join the cities of the world that will never feel safe again.
According to you and the BBC TAG East actually did the take down, as opposed to the police.
Shouldn’t that be mentioned on this thread?
Do you have a link to your sources on TAG East doing the take down?
Australia is one big gun free zone.
Even if TAG East did the takedown, the police were still heavily involved in the operation, and if the people of Sydney are grateful to them, I don’t have a problem with that.
Besides the statement from a BBC correspondent (Frank Gardner), the only information I have on TAG East’s involvement comes from a source that isn’t easy to link to. I’m also discussing this in places where ex- and current ADF personnel hang out online.
No, it isn’t.
An Australian gun owner.
So you don’t have a source?

#BREAKING: There are reports the AFP and NSW Police are currently raiding homes in south-west Sydney as part of an ongoing investigation.
You do your countrymen no favors by promulgating on this forum the lie that Australia has rational private firearm ownership laws, because it doesn’t.
I don’t think Australia’s laws are at all rational. I think they are bloody irrational.
But about a million Australians own millions of firearms so I think it’s a bit misleading to describe the country as a gun free zone.
Frank Gardner, BBC.
You may not know who Frank Gardner is - he’s the BBC Security Correspondent. You can check him out at Wikipedia.
Guns rust. Good luck with that.
Mine don’t rust. They get used quite regularly. On targets anyway. I haven’t had cause to shoot at anything else for quite a while.
LOL, I need to see your source, show me what the BBC reported, I don’t want to look a reporter up in Wikipedia, that doesn’t ell me anything.
It was on BBC TV news.
Looking around to see what else I can find - it’s on his Twitter account.
https://twitter.com/@frankrgardner
Where on his twitter account, please cut and paste it or direct link to it.
Also link to your other sources reporting or statements, it shouldn’t be so hard to get you to just show us.
It’s there in black and white on the page I just gave you a link to.
“Assault team that ended the 16hr #SydneySiege are commandos from Tactical Assault Group”
As for my other sources, I can’t link personal conversations and unless you’re ex- or serving ADF, you almost certainly won’t have access to the other place I’m discussing this online and frankly I wouldn’t want to invite you to that forum.
If it is a forum you can link to it.
