Need those for when SHTF and we’re all trying to survive.

I have a pair of the Maine hunting shoes that I bought 25 years ago. Maybe not a good shoe for really cold conditions. But very good for muddy, wet conditions. I still wear them.

Bean Boot?
iconic boot?
duck boot?

This was for many decades the “Maine Hunting Shoe”. Says a lot that the press can’t even allow themselves to say that, and LLB itself no longer calls it that.

I have a 40 year old pair, bought in Freeport late one night after a blizzard (but only because Kittery Trading Post was out of Sorels in my size). Still going strong on all-original parts.

I have a pair of Ft. Lewis boots, best ones I’ve ever had,
particularly if you trek in hilly or mountainous terrain.

I sprung for a pair of Filson Highlanders a few years back. Fully leather lined, with a layer of 24 oz wool and a cork insole.

I like to walk around barefoot in the winter, in honor of the patriots at Valley Forge. (nt)

I’ll have to look those up. Look like a good cycling boot.

I had to buy a pair of the shoes when I worked in Portland ME. The combination of road salt and sea salt would destroy a pair of shoes in the winter.

...but how do you deal with 72 ounces on your feet?

You get used to it. My job requires me to wear a pair of steel-toed Redwings.

Good fer the leg muscles. :-P

I still have a pair of original UGGs when they were made in Australia. I have about 5 different pairs of Uggs but the ones sold now are all made in China and are crap compared to the originals.

My Eureka Canyon Tent finally came off backorder. I spoke to the LL Bean people up in Maine earlier today and they are going to get it to me by this weekend.
