An article in the Washington Post informs us that event organizers say they are seeking to make a statement by having Muslim leaders hold their midday service in such a visible and venerable Christian house of worship. I have no doubt that is true.
I also have no doubt that "event organizers" are "lying like a Gruber" about the REAL statement they are seeking to make.

Everything I need to “understand” about islam I leaned on September 11, 2001.
It can be summed up as follows:
“Radical muslims want to kill us.
Moderate muslims want radical muslims to kill us.”

It’s unfortunate, but considering the state of the Episcopal church, it’s not that surprising. They will have much to answer for.

Planners say they hope Fridays service at the historic cathedral will foster more understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims around the world.
I understand that Islam is a death cult and the biggest threat to freedom and liberty on the planet and I will never accept that we can not defeat that.

We want the world to see the Christian community is partnering with us and is supporting our religious freedom in the same way we are calling for religious freedom for all minorities in Muslim countries, said Rizwan Jaka, a spokesman with the prominent ADAMS mosque in Sterling, Va.,They're doing a damn poor job of religious tolerance in muslim countries as pretty soon there won't be a single Christian or Jew left east of Israel.

The statement is that they are superior to Christians and now we all are made to know it. Bow down Dhimmi’s.

It is my understanding—and I may be remembering this wrong—that once a building is used for muslim worship, it becomes a mosque.
If so, the apostate Episcopal “church” is about to lose its greatest U.S. landmark!!!!
