Just revolutionaries who further the revolution they deem to be all good and who consider anything that furthers it virtuous.

How is that not evil? Hitler was running under the same logic. Would you call him evil?

Perhaps the police should close up shop and let this community police itself.

“How is that not evil?”

I’m attempting to speak from their point of view.

I detest what they do and detest their agenda and the only way one can defeat them is to use logic and not moral indignation because they know no morality and consider moral indignation to be “stupid” in the face of the revolution to “save all mankind”.

IMHO

Fair enough. Probably works better than my method sometimes.

I’m more likely to point out that their approach generally ends up wounding the most vulnerable and destroying the innocent, without advancing the state of “all mankind” at all. And then I challenge them to show me Real World examples where their approach has ever worked better than methods that demand people respect the rights and the property of the weak.

My 9th grade government teacher, Don Stratman, pretty much cured me of liberalism with this technique. A fair percentage of liberals — particularly the younger ones (I’m mostly dealing with liberal college students, myself) — honestly do want to help people and honestly believe they hold the high moral ground. In that case, realizing that their position is immoral can have serous impact.

My older liberal friends who are never going to believe that conservatives have anything to offer are not converted by this approach — but it does shut them up, because while they are convinced I am wrong, they can’t find anything useful to support their position (they want to argue headlines; I shoot them down by reading — and quoting back to them— the actual studies they’re trying to use against me).

If one cites millions of dead in China, Russia, Cambodia, Viet Nam and other places as the result of Progressive policies run amok, with no controls, they would foam at the mouth, resent the connection and making the accusation of “knuckle-dragging, Christian moron”.

IMHO

It would be cool to run a few leftist webpages with donation links.

While I’m sure you’re right on how they’d respond, the fact that they are convinced “they just did it wrong; if we do it right, it’ll work” makes me psycho, so I have more than one reason to avoid the topic.

Happily, I’ve never been tempted to go there. It’s not like they’re really proposing anything new, so there are plenty of horror stories and predictable failures to mine right here in the US!

Perhaps the police should close up shop and let this community police itself.

Or lay off the expensive government hirelings and automate law enforcement with non-lethal cameras and drones with nets. A robot doesn't have a life to lose so doesn't need to kill people.

The important thing is to pray for election results like those of last week.

We know they’d never be investigated by the IRS.
