Great quote. Still true 2000 years later.
It was my honor to commiserate with with you.
Yer the best.
Civil/world war? Check my profile page for some ice skating?
I had to wait to hear the results this afternoon. I started a new job this AM, leaving the house @ 5 AM, and no election news to be found on the car’s radio! What a bummer! Anyway, what a joy to come home to the great news! I live in Lake Park, GA!
Excellent. Let’s get married.
That's one of the first things Congress should do: authorize the pipeline and give 0bama a bill he can't realistically veto.
Good post!
Thank you. It’s going to be very important McConnell, Cruz, Boehner, . the whole bunch give Obama no quarter right up front - starting Today. His speech was calculated to mollify their response. Don’t take the bait guys and gals!
On the list of priorities, that one is lower to me. Stuff like stopping Obama on Immigration, stopping his out of control EPA, stopping his (everything).
Freedom is a powerful idea, the most powerful idea in all the world.
We (conservatives, libertarians, classical liberals, whatever label one wishes to apply) must be living examples for those who arrive on our shores. We must show them that hard work and integrity is how you build a better life for yourself in this country.
I know a lot of immigrants bring their abominable Marxism with them, along with their poverty and a desire to indulge in the welfare/entitlement state, which is so enticing, and yet is ultimately a dead end for opportunity and happiness.
In the not-too-distant past, immigrants were strongly motivated to assimilate into the larger American culture. Leftist pandering and an easily exploitable welfare apparatus have effectively destroyed that impulse.
The people who form these demographics are not our enemies! They represent potential allies and converts. That is how we must see it, and we must work to include them in the American dream, and not push them into the arms of Democrats and their ilk, who offer a false vision of America, with dependence, malaise and minimal existence as their only reward.
I'm all for controlling immigration, whether legal or not. But, sooner or later, members of those demographics MUST join our ranks, or we are fighting a losing battle.
I believe that Liberty sells. It can prevail within the marketplace of ideas, when adroitly contrasted with its seductive yet illegitimate alternatives.
Mia Love, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz: The GOP needs more and more of such people, for they in turn will ultimately attract more and more of their ethnic brethren into similarly embracing Liberty. Once that happens, the collectivist authoritarians won't be able to populate their Tyrannical plantations so easily in the future.
I was having a conversation with an analyst friend about this today. We noted that the backpedaling by McConnell has begun on repealing OCare, no government shutdown, etc. My contention is that the R’s want the media to not bash them. So by going along to get along they think they won’t be bashed. The reality is the media is going to bash the R’s no matter what they do.
I wish they would all grow a set and call BO’s bluff. He runs away from confrontation. So, pass OCare repeal and see if he will truly veto it. Either way, it’s ok. If he backs down like the coward he is, then, yay, OCare is repealed. If he doesn’t, then there is no doubt what he is and it’s clear that ‘compromise’ is not possible with him.
Such a bunch of gutless wonders.
Plus the ruling elites do not believe we are on the path to implosion. They are fools
Laz, that was the BEST short summation of the election that I have read anywhere. Thanks.
That is very kind. :)
Actually Laz, I am brutally honest. I will not blink before I tell my wife that what she is wearing looks like crap. Wait a sec, she'll tell you herself.
-Mr. Lazamataz, this is houeto's wife, he is not kidding a bit. -Mrs. houeto.
LOL
You just made me laugh :)
Not me, she did. I just told her what you posted. She just smiled.
I think the three of us get along very nicely.
How comfortable is your couch? I don’t have a lot of stuff to bring. See you Wednesday, pick me up at the Greyhound station?
Cruz might, but you can forget about McConnell confronting Obama. The only thing McConnell will do is join Obama in fighting the tea Party, whom he has already promised to crush. Perhaps the Kentucky voters did not believe him or they wanted the Tea Party crushed.
ditto!!!!
Would be a great read in a local paper....
