Still looks younger than Keith Richards. Of course, everyone looks younger than Keith Richards. Hell, Methuselah looked younger than Keith Richards! LOL

Was this before or after Mountain?
San Diego, 1972 - so just after Mountain broke up. Then they reformed a few years later IIRC. I caught one of Corky Laing's drumsticks that he tossed into the crowd - wasn't trying to but he threw it right at me.
The opening band was Cold Blood with that hot blond singer, Lydia Pense. She locked eyes with me during "I just want to make love to you" and I was smitten.

I saw the concert at MSG. Great show. The DVD was better, because they had three nights to chose from with Sunshine being my favorite. Also, got to see Ringo and Paul at Ringo’s 70th. The DVD shows a girl in a red dress at Royal Albert. She wanted to see the show and her friends got together to send her to London to see the show and arranged for her to be in front of the stage, since she was dying of leukemia. A lighter note the cowboy shirts Clapton wears are form Rockmount in Denver.

Cream was the band who’s music I learned to play guitar to. (Well, them and KISS). And this was 12 years after they had broke up! Clapton’s playing was so awesome. And it always amazed me how well Bruce could play those lines and sing like he did simultaneously! Amazing.
Anyway, RIP and thanks for the beautiful music!

Ginger Baker today looks only a few years older than he did in 69.Yup. It was Bruce who looked old and then sure enough died first.

Man what is it with English musicians from the 1960s and liver disease? They all seem to die from that. Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding from the Jimi Hendrix band are two other who died from liver disease.

"Crossroads" I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, "Save me if you please."
I trust that at some point in time, Jack did that...

that he ever heard and Clapton, the best guitar player
that he ever heard.

Would that have been around November/December... ? Nope...summer.The restaurant where we saw them was called Hugo's and was on the water in Cohasset. Our family had a boat then and on weekends we'd go out for a few hours and often stop there because you could tie your boat up at their slip.
To: Gay State Conservative
We lived in Sharon from 78-83 and Hugo’s was our go-to place for special occasions (even as broke, just out of Grad School 20-somethings...). I can’t imagine seeing Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton sitting at a table close by...too funny.

tiny purple fishes,
run laughing through your fingers,
and you want to take her with you,
to the hard land of the winter.
RIP Mr. Bruce
