Well there was a musical a couple of years back about the Titanic.
To be honest with you, this is the same city that gave to Broadway a musical about the Titanic, I kid you not.
There is bad, and there is bad.
Sounds like the kind of opera Leonard Pinth-Garnell would have lambasted on "Bad Opera."

I actually attempted to watch that one on PBS.

There is more opposition than you might think, but with the big Arts foundations remaining silent, the opponents of this fiasco at the Met don’t have enough political clout to stop it.
Nevertheless, the Met is in very serious financial difficulty, with most of its endowment gone, a downgrade from Moody’s looming, and many Patrons/Donors canceling out on account of Klinghoffer - so unless some really wealthy donors are willing to plow more money into the opera house, the laws of economics will have their way.
