For at least the last 30 yrs- all I ever heard was that MJ was a gateway drug.
Suddenly it is no longer a gateway drug- what changed?? Where is all that money that has been spent preventing teenagers from starting on the evil gateway drug MJ.

I look at the MJ issue as similar to opium in the 18th century.
Control of the masses, make them pliable and dependent on drugs they will be easier to control.
And the "freeloader dopers" wont be so high they'll forget. Do you think legal pot will make them stay in Colorado? <---rhetorical question.

Colorado legalizes marijuana and (likely) turns into a red state. Cool!
I used to view the issue as similar to alcohol, but the reefer from years ago, is not the same as today.
My understanding is this is not the ditch weed of years gone by, this is some very potent weed.
Way I look at this stuff is the difference between a beer and grain alcohol. Both are alcohol, but they are different beasts.

Certainly not as easily as in Colorado. Availability and access have both increased since it is now legal.
And why bother with being harassed by the police in CA when you can freely smoke it in Colorado.
A no brainer.
