Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

By all accounts, Firestone’s huge farm — apparently the largest contiguous rubber-tree farm on Earth — is a paradise compared with the destitution and havoc across the rest of war-torn Liberia. “In a country where children walk to school over muddy paths, high-school students here board big yellow school buses, winding over country roads,” the Journal reported. “Electricity flows from a private dam. Water towers, telephone poles, speed-limit signs and brick homes — all exceedingly rare in tropical Africa — stare out over mowed hillsides that resemble the landscape outside Nashville, Tenn., where Firestone’s head office is based.”

From NPR? Wow.

You mean the horrors brought by Columbus and the colonialists who followed!?

Brought to whom? The people's of the America's who practiced slavery and incessant raiding, murder and warfare against each other? Who practiced ritual mass sacrifices of their own peoples? And yet who never developed a philosophy of compassion that would stop such evil to any extant, as was done at least to a degree in the West? Who never developed science or technology or political sophistication? Who could only live in superstitious tribes hunting each other?

Oh I'm sorry, is the West not perfect like your California Dreaming Running With Wolves soccer mom fantasies of the Noble Red Man?

LOL, you're a child. You're not even aware you're dehumanizing the former people's of the Americas. By not requiring of them the personal and cultural developments of humanity, you relegate them to the level of animals and dehumanize them. Oh sorry again, all cultural norms are equal? No they're not, freshman with the big eyes. No they're not at all. Some are right, and some are wrong.

How can we tell the difference? Easy. Let me show you. Get out of college - you don't need to finish your classes. I need to hit you on the head with this stone hammer because we're raising your village today. Why? Well I could discuss the inter-village balance of dominance status vis-à-vis the feedback from ecological stress through hunting boundary changes as they constantly re-adapt to herd migration routes, but all of that is just pointless Western cultural impositions wrongly interpreting my way of life because of inescapable, innate bias. You see, from my true-speaking point of view, you just have to die because you're not of my tribe, mofo. And that's equal to any other belief, according to your own cultural equivalence beliefs. After all, who's to decide?

Oh look, Columbus is in the harbour. He's not of our tribe, either. Let's see if he's as stupid as you are.

(500 year later) I guess he wasn't as stupid as you.

I had my Women and Ethnic Studies professor read your post. She says you’re a crazy right-winger and that Western Civilization has been a net drag on the earth. America was an Eden, a perfect paradise in balance with nature in which aboriginal peoples didn’t waste a thing, until Columbus came. Who am I to argue with her?

Who are you to argue with her? That's a spiritual question only you can answer. She's paid to protect the liberal plantation, and her Masters do not look kindly on overseers who fail at their jobs. Slave owners uniformly explode with rage when someone threatens their property, especially property that votes. So if you're thinking of presenting her with deeper research, remember that there is no depths to which she will not sink to stay in favor.

Do not mistake her for someone with a conscience. Her kind has done more harm than anything Columbus could have dreamed of, and they don't intend to stop until the entire planet is a prison - or dead. Read up on the enforcement mechanisms of the Soviet Union, East Germany or Communist China to better understand her real methods and goals.
