If the purpose is single-payer, this a gold medal day. Of course the author has no clue that someone is paying for those "substantial subsidies".

They obviously don’t realize that their taxes are going to pay for walmart employees health insurance. People think material is free, time is free, EVERYTHING FREE!!!!!!!

Poor WaPo...has to praise Wal-mart for dropping health insurance as a sign Zer0care is working. That’s some serious pretzel action.

If the employer mandate ever becomes effective lots of employers will offload employees onto government subsidized plans.
This is not the good news liberals think. From some things I've read even subsidized rates will be a lot higher than WalMart was charging. People could be really unhappy.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
It may involve some hassle for individual employees, as theyll have to go to the exchange to figure out what plan to get. But most of those Walmart workers will likely come out ahead. It's all so glib and happy on paper, isn't it?

People don’t realize that when someone says” The money comes from the government” the government gets from taxpayer’s pockets.
There is a reason why people haven’t revolted yet.
The bill for the last 7 years hasn’t come due yet. The elected officials are still spending and borrowing money like drunken sailors.

With that kind of logic...
Getting laid off is also good for people. When they apply for unemployment benefits and other government services, they will end up with more total value than if they paid for all those things by themselves.

The real racket is that the money isn’t coming from current taxpayer’s pockets, it is coming from your children’s future taxes in the form of debt, and a devalued dollar from all the money printing. It is an evil scheme.

Nobody on that list will buy insurance.
They will either get it subsidized or simply use the emergency room for care. if they get really ill, then they will buy the insurance and not be able to pay the deductible.
What a world we live in.

But this is a development that we should welcome. Only if it is just Paul Waldman that is paying the subsidies out of his own pocket.

We the People are paying the cost for this CORPORATE cost-shifting of an expense for health coverage premiums.
So, private Insurors, “can you hear it now” your dirge?
WAPO tells the truth of the venture socialists.
