Wow a researchmicrowave at home!!
NICE!!
Typically it was the break room/lab with a select group of ‘researchers’.
My brother had the largest Nexie tube ever. That was fun.
NB: A burnt out filament bulb puts out a nice display but the glass cannot take the heat for too long.
Once working at a ‘facility’ that I won’t name, the break room microwave (and fridge) had labels on them that said ‘food only’.
Face palm alert!
Steel wool spinning is fun too!
No microwave required!
Stuff fine steel wool contained in an old whisk on a string.
Light it and spin it fast.
Safety glasses may be a good idea.
Newly released quality smartphones are like crack in third world countries!
I worked at a large research lab; employees were supposed to know better.

Have no idea.
Anybody who puts a phone in a microwave deserves to lose both the phone and the microwave. Are we living in Idiocracy, or what? By the way, that’s a very cool gif. Where did it come from?
How many watts was that microwave rated at?
I Go ogled it with the search string “cell phone microwave.”
Just a standard popcorn popping/ research grade microwave.
Have used the std domestic grade model that resides in my kitchen for split grapes, old bulbs...out of stock on the brass wool.
I thought it might be 5 or 10 thousand watts or something!
YES!
Some of it looks better on youtube?
I guess the mileage may vary?
Get the iCup instead. It can be placed in a microwave.
Never needs batteries.
