Probably the most important step in restoring legitimacy to FedGov is to cut its size aggressively. We need to oppose any FedGov expansion outside the enumerated powers, which means:
(1) Resist and block all FedGov expansion, since FedGov already does everything useful it could do, everything permitted under the Constitution, and far more,
(2) Prioritize cuts to FedGov to get rid of those FedGove activities outside the Enumerated Powers, starting with costly items have small constituencies first,
(3) Continue cutting FedGov until it is so small that it no longer seems worth seeking government power to the corrupt thugs who currently gravitate toward DC as either Clinton/Obama/Pelosi/ Reid Democrats or McCain/Romney/Christie/Rubio RINOs.
Once we make government limited in size, the crooks will go back to community organizing, fake liberal charities, Chicago politics, and Nigeria scams - where liberal liars belong - and we can have a government that focuses on its small but important actual job.

MILITARY.COM reported (during the post-Morsi ousting in Egypt), that US Pentagon officials declined to give specifics on conversations between DOD's Chuck Hagel and brilliant tactician Egyptian Gen al-Sisi (now Egypt's president).
(NOTE Gen al Sisi, 58, received a masters degree from the U.S. War College in Carlisle, Pa, in 2006. The General is revered by Egyptians for routing the Muslim Brotherhood which Egyptians consider a terrorist organization.)
Although officials would not discuss the specifics of the military-to-military talks, the US would have needed Gen al-Sisi's approval to move through Egyptian air space if Washington decided to send Marines to aid in the evacuation of U.S. personnel in the post-Morsi chaos.
