No—and discipline and beatings are not the same thing. Jeesh!
To: Trailerpark Badass
Ha ha—I’ve already been hearing from them!

I don’t care that they beat their kids, or that they belong in jail or prison, I DO mind when they don’t get arrested and go clinkers just because they’re black.

Oh wow. No I hadn’t. That’s nowhere near what I thought people were going nuts about. I’ve done worse-looking from playing. There is no way that’s going to be fatal, or endanger physical health.
“bleeding”? that’s fairly fresh and leaking. Yeah, that’s done with a thin stick thats all bendy.

“Disciplining is part of parenting.”
Yes. I’m a parent, too. What I meant is actually having 2 parents in the household.

Maybe if you spank them throughout the day, morning, noon and night whether they deserve it or not they will grow up to find the cure for cancer, become neurologists, nuclear physicists...............eh?
Freepers, some of you are really twisted on this subject.

We used to have the drama of going to the front yard and cut our own switch from the smoke tree. Mom usually chickened out by then, but the switch was right there on the table for when Dad got home. It sounds like your mother was actually training you for a career in landscaping.

You are disgusting - if you think leaving those kind of marks on a four year old is funny or justified then perhaps you need to be investigated.

Where did you get the impression that I condoned this beating? I posted the photo - if some freepers think this is perfectly fine it is their own issues with their children showing - not mine. I didn’t have to do much of anything in regard to discipline of my children - they were good kids who were smart enough to understand rules.

some teachers had paddles
When I went to school, it was the vice-principle's job to administer the paddlings. And he did... In the 8th grade, a student made the music teacher mad one day. The teacher grabbed out this wooden paddle and called the student up to the front of the room. The student dutifully bent over the teacher's desk. POW! The first swat...POW! The second swat and the paddle broke apart into a million pieces. Needless to say the entire class broke out laughing. If the Peterson episode had occurred in the 60's, no one would have said a word as it was nobody's business how a parent disciplined their child. I guess things are different under socialism...

Spanking a child isn't the same as beating them.
Notice that torturing dogs, beating women and abusing children are defended as a 'black' thing?

Why stop at the 60’s? Prior to that men could beat their wives and the police didn’t do anything - was that a better system?

Hmmm. Have I appeared to have made *any* attempts to be humorous on this subject?

When I was a kid, I didn’t know anyone who didn’t get spanked or whipped, as we call it. We all grew up with our sanity intact somehow.
I used to have to pick out a switch from the lilac bush. Those whippings stung, but at least they smelled nice.
