People still buy pre-packaged cigarettes? How silly. Been rolling my own (no tubes either) for 20 years.
The nearest CVS to me is 25 miles away. I have 2 mom & pop pharmacies, 2 Dollar Generals and a Family Dollar all within 10 miles and even WalMart is only 14 miles away.
Don’t know if this is just a suspension or ZOT. Gone for now another 1999 dated FReeper.
Yeesh, I missed stuff.
The tale is likely told by the removed posts.
“The nearest CVS to me is 25 miles away.”
There are at least 6 within 10 miles of my home-—and I detest them-—aisle after aisle of junk.

I think it was in relation to this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3200526/posts?page=40#40 post by a mod.
WHAT THE.................
What the heck is it with those who oppose the nanny state and government over reach getting blasted, yet those who support it and push it around here seem to be immune to even a sllap on the wrist?
More than likely.
I think now that the mods didn’t like my tagline, so they pulled my replies. I replaced the tagline.
I apologize to Drango. Naturally, with the anti-smoking bee up his butt, I thought he hit the abuse button and had my replies pulled.
No need. I wasn't me.
You’re still here! Great.
I quit smoking in 1990, June 2 to be exact.
Went through the phases:
Phase 1. Chew Nicorette
Phase 2. Please don’t smoke near me
Phase 3. Keep “security pack” in the freezer
Phase 4. This ain’t so bad
Phase 5. I hate cigarette smoke
Phase 6. Toss security pack unsmoked
Phase 7. Get a whiff of second hand smoke and appreciate how nice it smells.
Phase 8. Non smoker! Toss Nicorette.
What was the tagline?
Thanks for the ping!
Alternative headline: “CVS Refuses to Support Schools and Sick People!”, since smoking taxes were sold as supporting schools and healthcare.
Yup...I agree, and people being rude “are you gonna cry now?” It’s just weird.
Obviously CVS did this in response to the bullying nanny state, just like grocery stores are banning plastic bags and schools are outlawing snacks.
None of this would happen if we were a free country, yet when we decry this subtle fascism certain people freak out about it.
I’ll never understand...

yawwwwwnnnnnnn.
G’nite, Drago.

I read the comments on the New York Times blog and USA blog regarding CVS ending cigarette sales. The liberal statists who want to heal the world and make it a better place think they did it as an act of benevolent kindness in the interest of the health and well-being of their fellow man.
And I thought I was naïve.
CVS health, which is the new name, calculated that they can make a lot more money off of the minute clinic and getting government funding for any fill in the blank government healthcare program.
It’s all about the money. The good PC press is just a side effect.
THE GOVERNMENT, AND STATES MAKE MORE MONEY OFF OF CIGARETTE SALES THEN ANY STORE OR EVEN THE TOBACCO COMPANIES.
