Sad, yes. Mourning the loss of sons, yes. Getting the timeline reset. Semper Fi!
None of it having anything to do with the thread topic.
Doing some research two Free Republic threads showed up. Our discussion has been discussed in 2006.

Reagan also successfully retaliated against Libya and Gaddafi, it really is all the terrorists in that part of the world understand.
Michael Reagan pointed to this as well just last night on his show, he believed that Ron ultimately did feel that not enough had been done against the Beirut attackers, and he resolved to get more forceful in future incidents. And he manifestly did:

Therefore, knowing that God in fact does have a plan and it does include His wrath being fulfilled, I have to accept the fact that there are times that vengeance is not fulfilled the same as I believe that wars hold back the tide of evil. So many veterans view their service as a win/lose scenario, when in fact their service is part of thousands of years in the war against evil. God puts rulers in place and He knows what He is doing. I have faith in His strategy. Thank you for making me do some studying.
I was in the military at the time and I know how I wanted to react, but watching Reagan stay focused and then seeing the big picture unfold, was one of the many factors that made me see him as a man of history, a bigger man than we normally see in leadership in the White House.
