I saw a documentary once that said that some volcanic island just west of Portugal and/or West Africa "can't recall the name) was so precarious and dangerous that if it erupted it could cause a collapse of the island so big that a tsunami of Biblical proportions would result.

That's the Canary Islands and its been disputed.
