You are 100 percent correct. My wife and lost our son to suicide a little over 4 years ago because of depression. Unless a person has been through it, depression can not be understood how much a person is suffering.

I am so glad you are feeling better! Thank God for your recovery!

Addendum: In addition to his stand-up comedy and acting roles, some of his appearances on the Johnny Carson show were among my favorites.

I can remember seeing some of those. Johnny just sat back and laughed and let Williams go a million miles an hour. RIP to both.

I'll have to see if I can find a clip on YT.

He brought Euphegenia Doubtfire to life. She almost became a real person.

So true! I wanted him to continue to be her!

Yes, my father hanged himself and I’m pretty sure the death certificate said asphyxia.

The scene where the judge gives custody of the kids to their mother was a very painful scene to watch. Robin played it like his guts were completely torn out. Brilliant acting.

Funny one with Jonathan Winters and Williams. Williams is really respectful of Winters...he mostly just sits back and lets Winters talk while Williams laughs:

Hammerhead, you hit the nail on the head. Over the top and spiritually dead. I was so sick of the “I hate Bush” and “I hate the Republicans” routine every time he was interviewed. Nice guy? I think not.

I also wearied of his same “Jesus Christ Complex” in all his movies — where he is this persecuted victim, who is put down, then rises up to victory in the end.

Hate to beat the dead, but not going to miss this one.

RIP...... worth 35 million. With this wealth I would find ways to not be depressed and drink. He screwed two wives. Walked out on them. Maybe the bad karma accumulated and guilt too.

Apparent? he hanged himself. What’s apparent about hanging yourself?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have not struggled with severe depression but I understand thoughts of suicide. I struggled with very severe migraines for many years. They were worse than natural child birth and usually lasted for about 36 hours. No pain medicine could touch the pain. I remember many times wanting to die just to make the pain stop. A hysterectomy cured the most severe ones. Now I have a miracle drug called Toradol (injection) that breaks the pain in about 20-30 minutes. I can make it through 30 minutes!

You’re right. He had a very bad day and couldn’t get through it this time. It’s heartbreaking.

I hope that some of the people who think Glenn Beck is a phony had a chance to hear his monologue today.
