Nothing a little vote fraud won’t fix.
Does anyone remember me earlier on claiming that these geriatric politicians ought to retire for the good of the nation? This is one of the reasons why.
There is a logical explanation for these poll results. The primary that Pat Roberts won wasn’t so much based on ideology as it was that Roberts was no longer an authentic citizen of Kansas, but an elitist D.C. insider who had lost touch with the folks back home, which he obviously had. That kind of criticism crosses party lines. Wouldn’t it be ironic if we knocked off a bunch of ‘Rat incumbents, but didn’t get the Senate due to the defeats of Pat Roberts, Thad Cochran, and Mitch McConnell?
The 104 liberal Republicans in Kansas supporting the democrat should be asked to change parties.
If they believe it’s okay for the demos to have the senate the next two years, they need to be removed from the party.
Exactly. And given Ras’s horrendous track record the last 3 cycles, this one is tied.
We MUST get rid of these old coots (said the old coot).
This is KS not ILL....
I try to refrain from kicking a candidate after a loss.
That said, Roberts is a much better candidate than his primary opponent, for a number of reasons.
Roberts is no RINO.
The alternative to Roberts was unacceptable in this contest, one reason why he was one of the very few incumbents I endorsed.
And the GOPe gives another election to the Rats. There’s no way Kansas should have a Rat senator, but thanks to Mississippi the GOP’s Virginia boy is going to lose. I’m not voting for him.
That’s what I’ve been predicting since they all voted to stop Ted Cruz during the CR debate. If I were in Kentucky, I wouldn’t vote for McConnell. If I were in Mississippi, I wouldn’t vote for Cochran. Well I am in Kansas, and I’m not voting for Roberts.
At least for the past 2 years he hasn’t been a RINO.
Just wondering why and old RINO (Fan of BIG G'memt) was more acceptable then Obama's long lost third or fourth cousin?
Because despite the false accusations from the peanut gallery, Roberts is a Conservative (8th most Conservative in the Senate, in fact, cited by a Wolf supporter). Wolf is a total unknown with no record, and no public contributions to the Conservative cause. He just woke up one day and decided to run.
...Just a guy who was trying to follow his Stalinist cousin into the Senate. To see fools on FR blindly supporting this guy when they couldn’t cite his record of achievement or accomplishments AT ALL was very telling. Maybe when Wolf builds up a public record demonstrating he can be trusted to be a Conservative, that’s when he’ll earn the support to win.
I was wondering how Ras. compared with Silver. Also if this poll was land lines only the Dems may be doing better than rated. The cell phone factor is still being learned.
I take it you don't think Greg Orman is much of a threat? Even with his center-right positions and Johnson County roots?
Thanks for the update.
I do not know either Roberts or Wolf. What I do know is that Roberts has done NADA to shrink the size of the Federal G’ment.
I do not know what a “conservative” is or does. I do know that the Federal G’ment is the octopus swallowing me and mine.
I also see that the Maverick and Gramnesty - supposedly big conservatives are specialists in Elitism and telling everyone what to do and how to do it
However, I think Roberts supported Cruz on this question and voted with him...
Given what little I’ve seen of Orman (who seems to be a Rovian leftist from a premier RINO county in KS), he’s more likely to take votes from the Democrat. If Wolf supporters go for him, it will demonstrate they weren’t really interested in supporting Conservatism.
By that matter, you can say virtually none of the Senators have done that with respect to shrinking the size of government (under the “leadership” of McConnell, who is absolutely as useless as Boehner in the House). Wolf could only make promises, but promises are worthless during the election season (they always seem to find religion before November and go right back to the devil come January).
There needs to be drastic changes made, regardless. But that will have to start by tossing leadership and replacing them with people committed to change and shrinking the government. All those in leadership are really only interested in power and how to preserve it.
Roberts has a history, Wolf does not - Wold may or may not have turned out to be an American I do not think Roberts is much of an American. That does not make him a bad person, just someone who should not be in the Senate
