There are also two Dims “with a chance” fighting to oppose Carr/Lamar! in November. That may also help.
Hard to remain positive, but I’m trying. The Cuccinelli and McDaniel gut-punches are still sore.
“Carr might pull off a 48-percent vote...at best.”
That is a real possibility.
“I dont think he was ever the best candidate to oppose Alexander.”
Perhaps not, but he was the best who stepped forward. After vetting the various potential candidates, the Tennessee tea party groups selected Carr. And Carr has made few, if any, mistakes. I went to one of his campaign stops and was very impressed. He is a solid conservative and, while not as “slick” as Alexander, is very savvy.
“As for voting for Alexander in the fall? No....if I were from Tennessee....Id just stay home or vote Democrat on this particular ticket.”
Agreed.
“I like how the campaign manager said theyve followed the Brat model.”
I think when Joe Carr announced his candidacy, he knew he would be swamped by Alexander in terms of money. Without money, Carr has at times appeared to be invisible.
He wasn’t getting much attention both (i) because he didn’t have money to advertise, and (ii) because Tennessee’s race is so late everyone was focused on the earlier races (Cornyn, McConnell, Cochran, Graham, etc.).
But a real boost to Carr has been the BeatLamar team. In my opinion Michael Patrick Leahy has done a great job of putting in place a real grassroots, on the ground, shoe leather campaign on a shoe string budget. We’ll see tonight how effective it has been. But if Carr pulls this out, a lot of credit will have to go to Leahy.
...vote Democrat...

There is NO way I would EVER vote for a Democrat after what I observed taking place at their last convention.
Don’t vote Democrat. Write in Carr.
(I wonder if that is possible?)
You can write in who you wish. I almost wrote in Rocket Raccoon for Governor this morning.
I hope you are right
Again, guys, I hope you are right. The grassroots has been fighting hard. But, trust me, much of Middle TN has neither heard nor seen anything in the way of support for Carr. You can’t beat Lamar without a ground game.
I have asked to help the campaign on numerous occasions and, until last week, I heard nothing. Not a good way to run a campaign if your budget is tight, but people are at least willing to door knock and hold signs
Even if I am wrong, I would rather spend this time in hope, prayer, and trying to help than moping. After tonight, if I am wrong, there will be more than ample time to mope.
No, Igtar, if we lose tonight, we can mope some, but then we MUST turn our attention to the other Senator from our state and take out Corker!
