You may have a point in that we need to keep an eye on some rather self-destructive reinterpretations of the Good Book.
Loving thy neighbor is a commandment to individuals not the State. The state is ill-relevant where your Soul is concerned. God doesn’t care what other people do for you, he cares what you do.
As servants of God we must remember the context of our judgement is upon ourselves not others. You follow the other’s rout and it leads to holy war and persecution.
I simply don’t believe anyone who demands a half a million a year from the taxpayers is really that concerned about spreading the word. Paul spread the word for free. I can accept that preachers need to be paid a salary but the head of this “charity” makes millions.
