A 1996 outbreak in Gabon was caused when local people ate the fresh body of a dead chimpanzee they found in the bush.Yeah, we always eat dead stuff we find on the ground here, too.

Seeing roadkill and then relating it to meat all packaged neatly at Costco has just about made me vegetarian!

All my family members over the age of 12 have just left for a week at the coast. I’m looking forward to not having to cook big dead pieces of meat for a week.

Saw some stories years/decades ago that attributed HIV to the habit of eating monkey brains.

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Yep...and AIDS also came from West Africa via chimps. If these savages would just quit eating and screwing monkeys maybe these diseases would die out.

I’ll bet that Obama is licking his chops and drooling while thinking of fresh monkey steaks on the grill along with some chilled elephant blood dakaris on the porch.

The “Road Kill Cafe” is a real place ... but the food isn’t really road kill.

Kinda makes you wanna cheer for ebola. Over there that is.
At least it does me.
