They did this in 2010. It’s retribution, and there is a pattern. So sad for Israel.
White House Disputes Report That U.S. Stopped Issuing Visas to Israeli Scientists
“This would seem to be another example of the unprecedented, harsh, and hostile posture the Obama administration has adopted toward Israel,” RJC Executive Director Matthew Brooks said in a written statement.
“President Obama continues to extend a friendly hand to Mideast dictatorships like Iran and Syria, while slapping our most important strategic ally there and fellow democracy in the face.”
The new controversy comes as a new survey shows that a majority of U.S. Jews approve of Obama administration’s handling of U.S.-Israel relations.
The administration blatantly used the denial of visas to preasure the return of the narco president Zelaya.

Interesting. As I understand it the Embassy in Tel Aviv, can't put it in Jerusalem for fear of offending Arabs, deals with Israelis and most issues for Americans in Israel. Yes, it's clearly stated on the Embassy site that tourist visas and routine problems for American citizens won't be dealt with.
Important NoticeDue to the current security situation in Tel Aviv, U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv remains open but is operating at reduced staffing until further notice, and has canceled routine visa application processing and American Citizen services. Emergencies involving an American citizen and visa applications will be considered on a case by case basis. If you had a scheduled visa appointment, you will receive an email informing you of the appointment cancellation, and another email with a new scheduled appointment. If the appointment is not convenient for you, you may reschedule your appointment through the scheduling system. You are not required to pay a new fee. We will update the website and our facebook on any developments. To ask for an emergency appointment, please email NIVTelAviv@state.gov (for visas) or AMCTelAviv@state.gov (for U.S. Citizens Services) and explain the nature of your emergency. We will respond to your email quickly with additional instructions.
We also have a consulate in Jerusalem. It deals with residents of the Palestinian Authority, also I'm told Israeli arabs. Doubt that's official, I'm sure an American citizen visiting Israel could access their services. Don't know if an Israeli could get a tourist visa there, maybe, but a palestinian could.
Assuming it's too dangerous to service Israelis and American citizens in Tel Aviv, I thought I'd check the Jerusalem Consulate's website to see if they used the same text but surprise, I can't find it. Solicitations to visit the US are there, but no notice of the suspension of visa issuance. I'm sure the rules are the same, they just forgot to tell the palestinians. Then again, maybe it's only Israeli tourists we don't want at the present time.
This is nothing but Obama & Jean F’in Kerry thumbing their nose at Netanyahu. Orders from above: stick it to dem Joooz.
Oye Vavoy!
I heard that Jarret’s family came from Iran. I wonder if this is true? Is she a Muslim? If so it explains a lot. Also if Obama was a Muslim as well as Jarret and they say they are Christians then why hasn’t a Fatwa been put on them?
