There is no reason to believe that Solzhenitsyn would be a Putinista. He loved the Russian people, not this self-serving narcissistic, statist crank.

So on net was Stalin a plus or a minus for Russia. How do you figure Putin would answer that question? How do you figure Solzenhitsyn would answer?

I’m curious. Do you have a Russian heritage? I’d be interested in hearing about it if you wish.

(only a Russian could think, "on the one hand, but on the other . . .", about Stalin)

Only a Russian? Why do you say that?

Solzhenitsyn does believe in strong leadership, just not from the state, but from the church, and I doubt he would use the word authoritarian. He would wish people would follow the strictures of the church on their own.

It’s very late and I’m still coming off a work day so I’ll answer this tomorrow. But I’ve posted regarding your questions on other threads you might find along the way........and you can also discover the information by doing some searches on line.

............”Well I was hoping he would because if he doesn’t a lot of people are going to die IMO. You approve of clearing out deadbeats? Why? And who are they?”......................

A lot of people have already died from Kiev's missile hammering of E. Ukraine.....there will be more as we see Kiev continue to missile bombard the area relentlessly, and this despite the OSCE reports they are firing where there are no separatists or fighting, rather citizens in communities and the entire infrastructure of the area.

Pretty obvious this isn't about fighting factions now or the deaths of so many people....rather a destruction of the region in order to bring about a humanitarian crisis.....thus the International Communities will come in in the aftermath and the 'revenues will flow' into Ukraine's coffers of Kiev's Government officials..... and also the foreign corporate entities lurking on the side lines to rebuild the area so they get their piece of the pie....the money will flow in and out of Ukraine's Government officials for distribution....where the other battles now rages on getting Poroshenko's own Parliament he can control..

Of course Putin's going to increase his military and equipment in Ukraine...do you think Europe or the US is going to "send" their military forces to break up the Oligarch's personal armies and militias operating there, who have their own agenda's going on in Ukraine....They've been directly connected with Parliamentary crooks who have abused Kiev's governance for years. It's taken them decades to deeply entrench their system within the system of Kiev's governance... and 'everybody working for any service' within the government were bribed and or payed off....that's how it worked. There was no checking system at all.

There are "other" groups as well who fight in the East... because that is their job...they're hired out Internationally to do the dirty work to the highest bidder....some private and others who just love to fight and have no allegiances........ Then you have the Extreme Nationalists who don't want EU or Russia involved in Ukraine's affairs, who've been waiting years for the opportunity to infiltrate the government and gain power.

Ukraine IS conflicts within conflicts and layered in the East.....with Parliament now caving in on itself, after "someone' orchestrated pulling a couple of bricks out of the wall', the whole things toppling down. Now it's going to be much about mopping up the East of the factions who aren't compliant and going into the next phase..."The beginning of the end" as some have said.....to do that someone has to stop the fighting....enter Putin.

But I do know your problem; it is that you’re anti-American and pro-Putin. You don’t love our constitution or our way of life. It’s not hard to understand, and given the right circumstance I could see you betraying the US out of loyalty to Putin, but not to the truth.
