“Do you have that short a memory, or a very selective memory, or are wearing blinders, or ???

The following will bring you and other low-information folks up to speed.”

You’re certainly entitled to your own view. But, you can keep your hostility to yourself... it is out of place here.

I don’t think very many people believe it was not a accidental act, but it was caused by something totally un-necessary and it’s the second time they have done it.

With advanced weapon systems, these things should not occur but they do for various reasons when commercial traffic fly’s over a war zone or military deployment with a weapons hot situation.

I think the real issue, or the pig in the poke, so to speak is that we are many days into this and still no admission from the Russian government who provided the weapons system and has been aware of this since day one.

I am expecting one, but it’s way too slow and may never come.

I still haven’t heard if it was stupidity, error or Ukraine air traffic controllers that routed the plane over an active war zone.

I'm glad to see that you believe that we have a direct moral equivalency to those barbarians who murdered those 298 innocents on Flight MH17.

As I remember, there were several threats against all US operating forces in the Persian Gulf at that time and that the crew of the Vincennes attempted to communicate with the Iranian flight after they had improperly identified it as a potential hostile. The radar operators had determined improperly that the plane was descending towards the Vincennes and as things ramped up, they continued to try warning after warning before they launched in what they believed to be self-defense.

Once the tragedy was upon them, everyone involved freely admitted the disastrous chain of events and accepted responsibility.

Conversely, the Russians are lying as they always have and always will. Mass murder is a Russian pastime and nothing to be apologized for as far as they are concerned. KAL007 as a case in point.

About as patriotic as Bill Ayers or Ward Churchill, aren't you..

Pretty astounding news.

It seemed like the obvious explanation from the start.

Don’t be ridiculous.

The US never “admitted responsibility” for the Iran Air shootdown. It expressed regret and paid compensation. Better than nothing but not the same thing.

The captain and crew of USS Vincennes were never disciplined for the incident. All received routine end-of-tour medals and commendations. But the captain never commanded a ship again and was retired less than three years later. The record (as well as testimony from the commander of another US warship) is pretty clear that the Vincennes captain was recklessly provocative and negligent. It was only the political necessity of the US’s saving face in a confrontation with Iran that handed the captain a fig leaf to shield his reputation.

The chief disconnect between the Iran air and Malaysian incidents are that Putin has used paramilitary goons (who should never have had access to such dangerous weapons) to deny any connection whatever to the events. At least Uncle Sam was able to man up to the point of saying it was our guys and we’re sorry it happened.

"I'm glad to see that you believe that we have a direct moral equivalency to those barbarians who murdered those 298 innocents on Flight MH17." You don't have a clue what I believe and it is totally out of line to manufacture false statements to bolster your hate speech. What twisted standards you apply. It is murder if the other side does exactly what we describe as an accident when doing it ourselves.

"....the crew of the Vincennes attempted to communicate with the Iranian flight after they had improperly identified it as a potential hostile." Just as the Russians, Ukrainians, rebels or whomever did.

"Once the tragedy was upon them, everyone involved freely admitted the disastrous chain of events and accepted responsibility." Total B.S! As of five years later, the United States had not even apologized to Iran. Eventually a weasel worded, half apology, was issued stating that we ".... recognized the aerial incident of 3 July 1988 as a terrible human tragedy and expressed deep regret over the Loss of lives caused by the incident".

"Mass murder is a Russian pastime and nothing to be apologized for as far as they are concerned.” So, it is mass murder when they do the same thing as we have done but described as an accident?

"About as patriotic as Bill Ayers or Ward Churchill, aren't you." The last refuge of a despicable scoundrel running out of substance in debate is to resort to an Ad hominem attack.

For your information and the record, I proudly served our country in combat in Vietnam. I will post my DD214 after you post yours.

Footage has revealed the dodgy efforts to maintain the crash scene by local rebels before international examiners arrived.

Vice News has released a news report outlining the complexities in maintaining the integrity of the crash site, especially when pro-Russian rebels say one thing, but do another.

“The Russian leadership of the Donetsk People’s Republic has said that they’re not touching the crash site because the international community has asked them to leave it intact for an investigation,” reports Vice News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky.

“But we’ve seen the opposite, we’ve seen people carrying materials away from the site, driving it away.

“We don’t know where it is going and it’s already been contaminated by a number of people who have been walking over it and removing things from it.”

It’s a bit hard to argue with these pictures ...

The easy conclusion these people are just animals is confirmed by the looting and treatment of the wreckage and bodies.

“Don’t tell tcrlaf. He’ll say it’s Ukrainian propaganda”

Actually, I said from the beginning that the rebels accidently shot it down.

But thanks for another ad hominem.

We can understand the mistake that the United States military made during hostilities with Iran, and minutes after being attacked, with seconds to decide, 30 years ago.

When you are you going to explain Russian invaders taking out a civilian airliner at 33,000 feet, for no reason?

You served in Vietnam in the military of a NATO nation and now you serve the enemy.

I knew an old WWII vet, he was the only true, unapologetic Stalinist that I ever met, he reveled in Stalin’s barbarity.

"You served in Vietnam in the military of a NATO nation and now you serve the enemy."

What an absurd and ignorant statement! It is much like an earlier post asking me about the weather in Moscow. He, she or it must have been referring to Moscow, Idaho rather than the other one.

Are you another keyboard warrior that can't handle the truth and have never seriously risked your own butt in genuine combat against the Communists?

The truth will set you free.
