Admittedly. I’d side with the Indians on this one. But I do get tired of that “sacred lands” crap. Everyplace an Indian ever took a dump is supposed to be sacred ground these days.
Most of the “legal authority” stems from a time when there were no States west of the Mississippi.
Most people,who live east of the Mississippi don't quite grasp the vast amount of USA territory the feds have complete legal jurisdiction over.
This should not apply to tribal reservation lands, but as the recent stand-off in Nevada proves, the feds write the rules, and can change them seemingly at will.
