RE: I taught in Catholic schools and if I publicly declared I was having an affair with a women outside of marriage, Id be let go.
But if you were single, that would be OK... :)
Would they be able to discriminate against a married man who was NOT currently involved in a adulterous affair, but openly admitted he was pursuing an affair with any woman who would say yes to his advances?
This school hired the guy while they knew he was (Presumably) an active homosexual. If homosexual “marriage” was legal in Georgia this guy could have a case under a “living Constitution” judge.
He wasn’t “fired”. His contract wasn’t renewed. Happens all the time.
Exactly. When I was a young lad, we had a pastor at our church that most of the kids loved. He was young and really brought fun to our Sunday School classes, etc...
But, when he started having multiple affairs, and the church found out about it, the church fired him.
Had he never made it known or better yet, he NOT did the deed, the church wouldn’t have said crap, but once you obviously thumb your nose at the very things you are attempting to espouse to others, will your students/parishioners really be able to listen or believe or follow you?
The church had no other option but to end this guys employment - period.
Contract Employee for a specified period of Time.
At the end of the Contracted Agreement, another Contract was not offered.
Nobody got Fired, period.
RE: This school hired the guy while they knew he was (Presumably) an active homosexual
I’m not sure if he told the school that he was “active” or not. All we know is he told the school about his orientation during the initial interview.
In the “progressive” mindset that is not renewing because of anti-discrimination; such as saying we are not renewing because you have dark brown skin.
If the Bishop really did state this reason, he is a very short-sighted individual. Deny extension without reason, end of story.
Why play with legal fire? I would not have hired him in the first place if sexual fetishes came up. Sign a morality clause and oversee it period.
"Back in Georgia, Dollar is playing organ part time at a Presbyterian church . . ."
Playing the organ is what got him into this situation.
Agreed...
HOMOSEXUAL, because there's nothing GAY about it.
Under federal anti-discrimination laws, employers are not prohibited from hiring or firing people on the basis of sexual orientation.
So you are saying that a convicted pedophile applies for a position in a grade school and if otherwise qualified can not be turned down because of his/her sexual preference? Nonsense. By LAW they would not be allowed in that position......
I would not be returning,” Dollar says. “I’m still kind of processing that.”
Well process it somewhere else. Shame on the Catholic school for allowing a practicing pervert from being in a school around children in the first place.
I’d be let go if I was single.
