Agree absolutely. There is no room for a Christian to think himself or herself better than anyone else, for we are all unworthy sinners. I was piqued by what seemed to be a smug put-down of traditional views, and didn't mean to come across as "holier than thou."
Part of the problem these days is that those who attempt to stand for biblical truth are labeled "narrow-minded" and "intolerant," when in fact - as we are increasingly seeing - the enemies of Judeo-Christian morality are actively suppressing any viewpoint except their own.
In this case, the problem seems to be a fog about what “wanted” would mean. We wouldn’t consider it that wonderful if a child were “wanted” for the purpose of licking out gutters, to put it in obvious, exaggerated terms. Even most modern orphanages try to give some dignity to their charges.
“I stand corrected - judgment of one’s inner motivations belongs to God and God alone. He will judge the thoughts and intents of our hearts.”
Well stated. Honorable.
