It will become more difficult for our pro-immigration freepers to hide behind their “legal/illegal” fig leaf.
We need comprehensive immigration reform, beginning with a law saying that no person who has ever entered the US illegally or remained in the US illegally shall be eligible for citizenship or permanent residency.
This BS is going to stop the moment the gravy train of 99 weeks of “unemployment”, food stamps, Social Security disability, Section 8 housing, free medical care, Aid for Dependent Children, Head Start, free school breakfast, lunch and dinner programs, subsidies for utilities, healthcare transpiration, the rest of the EBT card scams run out of money.
Obama has been warehousing our American unemployed population and lulling them into a false sense of normalcy with welfare and government handouts to disguise the urgency of our economic situation and to keep Americans from realizing how their jobs and their future are being destroyed .
What do you mean pro immigration as in legal immigration Freepers? I resent that. I am a naturalized citizen who came here legally in 1966. You might have been born here but your ancestors immigrated from somewhere. So don’t give me that bull about immigration Freepers
You said it
Unfortunately true.
In spite of the chaos at our border, LEGAL immigration is still the most destructive political force in America.
Every year, we naturalize 750,000 new citizens.
Many of them do not vote.
But poll after poll after poll shows that 80% of them vote Democrat when they do.
That was pretty confusing, but if you are pro-immigration, then you support the left, the democrat party, and the destruction of America, and America was not founded by immigrants, but by Brits who rebelled against Britain.
I was naturalized in 1977 before my husband was transferred to Germany for his last assignment. He retired in 1979 and we both registered as Republicans. We have never missed an election and have never voted for a rat and never will
That is your response to the hard cold facts in post 10, that you immigrated so you have to now support the left and the destruction of America?
You sound like one of those who see the wrong in gay marriage, UNTIL their daughters comes out as gay, and then they suddenly throw reason and conservatism and God, and patriotism out the window.
That BS about legal and illegal is nonsense, legal immigration is destroying America, in fact, it is already too late to ever recover, but we can slow the destruction.
Re: “You might have been born here but your ancestors immigrated from somewhere.”
So what?
Except for sub-Saharan Africans, the ancestors of EVERY person in the world immigrated from some other place.
That would include YOUR ancestors in the country you left in 1966.
Re: “I am a naturalized citizen who came here legally in 1966.”
When you arrived, less than 4% of Americans were foreign born.
Today, almost 14% are foreign born.
What is the percentage of foreign born in the country you left?
Do you think your home country would allow millions of politically Conservative Americans to become voting citizens?
Re: “I was naturalized in 1977 before my husband was transferred to Germany for his last assignment. He retired in 1979 and we both registered as Republicans. We have never missed an election and have never voted for a rat and never will.”
I believe you.
Why else would you be posting at Free Republic?
But, today, if I understand you, you support 750,000 new citizens each year, even though 80% of them completely reject the Conservative principles you live by.
Sorry, but I don’t understand your thinking on this issue.
I still have two brothers and several cousins in Germany where I was born and raised and have not been back since I left the last time. I have no interest in going back even for a visit. So much has changed since 1979 that I like to keep the memories that I have.
No I don't think they could vote and shouldn't be able to. The same as non citizen should be able to vote in our elections. You know though that is a liberal thing.
If they are legal immigrants why shouldn’t they be supported? Like it or not, this is a nation of immigrants
silliness
When we threw off the yoke of the crown in 1776, many people in this new country called America were in fact not immigrants. Some of their families went back a century or more.
