-- Ronald Reagan learned that lesson and wound up winning gargantuan elections. --

That's an individual candidate, and after Reagan lost the primary/convention to Ford, the party went on to lose the general election, to Carter! Reagan was still around, and good for us.

My point is that the party and the candidate are two separate things. The party chose Cochran. That doesn't mean Cochran will win the general, or that the party has managed to advance its interests.

I don't know if McDaniel is a Reagan or not. McDaniel may need to return to regular life for financial reasons; maybe doesn't compare in policy or charisma attributes.

There is another, more recent example. Murkowski. She lost the primary, and while not technically "jumping ship", won the general with support from the national GOPe.

I vote the candidate, not the party. I detest the GOPe. If I vote for a GOP candidate, it is an exception. I'd vote for Reagan, if the party ran one.

Everyone has to follow their own conscience. I have to face reality, so I will be voting for a moderate Republican in Nov. in order to help elect another GOP Senator who I might be able to influence, as opposed to a dem who I would have NO chance of influencing. Saving the country before it’s too late seems to me like a worthy effort.

This is where I fall. I was tempted, in my extreme anger, to just sit. It's too late, now and we are running out of chances. There will be two SCOTUS picks in the next 3-4 years. We must have the Senate.

We need a Redneck Revolution.

(This is a "free demo" version that has advertising at the end. If someone thought they would want it for campaigning, without the advertising, then that could be discussed. I might be able to donate my rights for that, but it would be up to my co-writer Ronnie whether to donate his. We are both appalled with the plight of the USA.)

In the end, only the good Lord who built America in the first place will be able to rebuild it. I’ve gone to the point of thoroughly annoying folks who want to destroy mediocre politicians without a shoo-in to take their place. It would be infinitely better for America, mediocre politicians and all, to stop again and listen for the voice of God. When the situation of America so shocks us that we will drop to our knees, that is when we will be closest to heaven’s help.

We need to vote the Lord in the end.

That factor is what, I believe, raised Winston Churchill from mediocrity in WWII.

People will immediately begin to scream, this or that person is not a Winston Churchill.

Well, Winston Churchill was not himself a Winston Churchill (please pardon the oxymoron) until the events of WWII forced him to muster himself, and he went to exactly the right place, the throne of God. Some of the earlier things that Winston Churchill embraced would appall us, e.g. eugenics. That nonsense got jettisoned.

The tea party candidate came within a hair of beating an entrenched six term incumbent despite being massively outspent. That’s pretty impressive. And look at the incumbent — he had to resort to unprecedented scumbaggery to squeek out his digraceful win. That’s pathetic. I think there’s blood in the water.

Yep. You get it.

This will not be an easy victory. Our opponents have incredible resources and are willing to resort to scumbaggery to win.

Even with that, it was close.

They can be beaten, and will be so long as we persist. Taking America back will take time, but the tide is turning. At least we know who the enemies are.

If I can influence the senator in my own state, then all you folks in your own states need to be responsible for influencing your senators. Work at holding their feet to the fire once they get in office.

Yeah....right.....influencing John Cornball in TX. The ONLY thing that's influenced or "held feet to the fire" for Big John RINO is....our election of Ted Cruz.

That's how electing TEA/Constitutional Conservatives works.

I agree with others....the open primary issue needs to be fixed...NOW.

Mississippi just learned that they have to take over the state GOP and change the primary rules. Pass a closed primary law. As much as we all hate to have to vote for GOPe candidates, in some cases we just “have to”.

I'll tell you what we just learned here in Mississippi. It is that the Cochran/Barbour/GOPe machine absolutely abhor and hate us. They used every Democrat racist accusation in the book against us to get out the black democrat vote for poor ol' Thad and it worked. They can go to hell!

Excellent point, my FRiend.

I might argue that we need to change the GOP from the grassroots (meaning us constituents) upward, into a TRADITIONAL REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Well,as a former resident of MS, my heart and emotions were heavily involved in this race. To have a candidate’s own party sabotage his election is the lowest thing I’ve ever witnessed. It’s probably time for me to go Independent. The GOP will know why. They left me in Mississippi.

I saw an “Impeach Obama” sign along side Ga.400 today,
they should sprout everywhere, I plan to plant one along
side that one on my next trip.
Let the people know they are not alone.
