Quite a tortured set of folds. Classic. Trying to backtrack the various stress that caused that gives me a headache.
Incorrect. Hydraulic Fracturing does nothing to change the product in the ground. It only makes cracks in the reservoir so whatever is already there can flow more easily to the well.
“Id understood natural gas to be more of a byproduct of the process rather than an objective. Frack for oil, get natural gas as well. Is this incorrect?”
Depends where you are. There are two sets of reservoirs here:
1. Oil (which always has some natural gas produced along with it)
2. Natural Gas - which may be dry or have some liquids associated with it. Sometimes like the Eagleford’s most prolific area, these liquids are great in amount.
