Did he CHOOSE to abstain from his meds? If so he is solely responsible. If someone tied him down and stopped him from taking it I'll cut him some slack.

Seriously, I think this is not a race thing, but a schizophrenia thing. His brother looked like someone who had to deal with this a bunch of times.
Heaven help anyone who has a family member afflicted that way. They really do need to be “kept on a leash”, but nobody is willing to do that. So they end up dead or in prison.
