Before Obama and the economic crash, there were some liberal idiots in the nearest city-SA-who came to this county and tried to talk some realtors and such into convincing customers to sell to and build for section 8 housing because-well, because even those on welfare deserve to live in the country, y’all.
It went absolutely nowhere, especially when one real-estate broker whose real job is being a rancher pointed out that to live away from cities and do well, people need certain self-reliability skills, and the ability to improvise because there is no mommy government to depend on for water, food, electricity, etc-and even 911 may be an hour away.
You can be poor as dirt here, and neighbors always help one another, but a clueless, government-dependent person is going to be shunned, Amish style. Needless to say, the thing was dropped, and we heard no more about it...
The dropping of that idea sounds like a blessing.
Believe me, it was-even the county commissioner who invited those people here to suggest that was voted out of office in a landslide.

It’s a theory that’s been studied, quite thoroughly, on many FR threads. You can enter Cloward Piven in a FR search and find out a lot about it. It’s worth a read, if you have the time.
It doesn’t require being in any sort of “club” to understand. Just basic reading comprehension and analytical skills.

For anyone who was either reading all the posts and/or with the ability to trace my post back to the post I was responding to (you can see who and the specific post # I was responding to in my post) it should have obvious that “C-P” was “Cloward-Piven”.
