On Monday, despite House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's (R-VA) shocking primary loss last week that was viewed as a referendum against amnesty legislation, former Mississippi Governor and lobbyist Haley Barbour said the House could still pass amnesty legislation this year.
"I don't think Eric's loss should have anything to do with it," Barbour said at the New York Meeting before pushing for a bill that would give a pathway to citizenship to "everybody's who's here illegally" so long as they confess they are in America illegally, pay fines and back taxes, and are put on probation.
Barbour said the House should pass "a very strong bill" that is to the right of the Senate's comprehensive amnesty bill and emphasized that "we gotta control the border at the end of the day or the American people will have a right to be furious with us."

The House can also declare war on China tomorrow. The only problem is getting enough people to vote that way.
The Republicans in the House that may have been leaning towards Amnesty know FULL WELL that they will almost certainly face a primary challenge in 2016 (and possibly a greatly increased general election challenge, as their base stays home). And they probably won’t be as lucky as Cantor, who had all the power, and faced a terribly UNDERFUNDED novice challenger - as there is now blood in the water.
The Republicans there may be IDIOTS, still trusting their gay pollsters and advisers - but they are still political animals and they know FULL WELL that their careers may well end on that vote.
They won’t get near it.

To see Haley Barbour turn into a crass sellout like this therefore is just wrong.
I was talking about this the other day how liberals and RINOs always love to use words that mislead people, such as this word they were using for Bowe Bergdahl the other day “reintegration” which is word used in psychiatry to describe someone with mental illness being cured. Gee, why would they use that word? Because they are going to use mental illness to excuse his desertion.
And then this word “Amnesty”, what does that word really mean? It means to pardon someone for a crime. In other words, anyone here illegally will no longer be declared illegal.
So HOW the hell is that suppose to solve our border problem? It isn’t! It’s going to make it WORSE! This is just one more huge con game by the libs and RINOs when the word that should be used is ENFORCEMENT.
You haven't controlled the border for decades, so the people are already rightfully furious (Has he completely forgotten about the 1986 amnesty disaster?). They are also furious that you aren't listening, and you are ignoring the will of the people as if you are part of some despotic regime.
