Of course, the Tea Party is a grass-roots, bottom-up movement, so it's hard to say just who is and who isn't a member, but it ought to take something more than just arbitrarily pinning the label on somebody to make a real connection.
The article is a smear from Mark Joseph Stern, who Andrew Sullivan (of all people) called, "the gay politburo official at Slate."
How often have we seen this headline? "'Occupy Wall Street' Protests Turn Violent"
PRO-GOVERNMENT EXTREMISTS are violent, dangerous people.
It continues.. the mob violence including even muggings, knockout game, mob attacks, murders, beatings.. and no wonder look at the wicked hatred coming out of the White House, the Congress, the MSM, academia against those "who have too much" and how things should be more fair. How "they" stole "the people's" property.
Everyday whether it be "immigrant rights" or "civil rights" the pro-government extremists are incited to violence out of being a "victim."
The employees of the MSM like MSNBC or Slate don't have to tell the pro-government extremists to inflict pain and suffering on the "haves" and take back the "stolen" goods. The pro-government extremists cheered on by the White House, the Congress, the MSM, academia to get even gladly do the bidding of the Obama government, the MSM, academia . . . .
In the spirit of compromise perhaps we could agree on chemical castration. They aren’t using their stuff for the intended purpose anyway.....
This kind of crap is what gives the Tea Party a reputation as gaggle of wild-eyed bigots. These people HAVE to be vetted properly.
Esks beliefs arent all that far from the other state-level Republicans in the region, who recently attempted to push through the most extreme piece of anti-gay legislation America has ever witnessed.
The reference being to the attempt in KS to pass a law compromising between anti-discrimination and religious freedom.
There are legitimate arguments the KS bill isn't a good one. But I thought the notion that is was "the most extreme piece of anti-gay legislation America has ever witnessed" really funny.
The last law providing the death penalty for sodomy was dropped in the 1870s. At one point or another capital punishment was the law in most states.
“Given how savagely anti-gay the mainstream Oklahoma Republican party is”
More BS from the enlightened elite crowd known as journalists.
I’ve met a few gays that acted like they were stoned.... Is that the same?
Mark Joseph Stern is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he double majored in History and Art History. During his time at Georgetown, Mark was a frequent contributor to Slate Magazine. His work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal and the Denver Post. Next year, Mark will be attending law school at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Slate LGBT contributor, Mark Joseph Stern, is worried about a new genre of homophobia, to which he refers ad Gay Denialism. People like anti-gay religious philosopher Michael W. Hannon, who claims that there are no gay people- only gay sex.
I am insulted that the FDA considers itself a nanny who thinks she has the responsibility of telling us whether or not anything we might put in our body is good for us or not.
Georgetown College 2013, Georgetown Law 2016
In a sentence, slam your writing at Slate: Overwrought, underdeveloped rants that veer schizophrenically between the irksome poles of grating outrage and glib mawkishness.
Whats the best published piece youve ever written? Kansas Anti-Gay Segregation Bill Is an Abomination
What a jerk. And what about the billions of bearded savages who already do this?
The author is upset over ONE idiot who proposes doing it.
The savages already do it.
How much marijuana will it take to stone someone to death?
Left to their own perverted ways, homos will kill themselves off. They are the ultimate dead enders. Problem is, they have been able leverage their lifestyle into a form of civil rights cause celeb’re and aren’t restricted to operating in a vacuum. The closet has long been abandoned.
Oh great, another tone deaf GOP (TEA Party or not) politician who makes people on his side look like mutant half-wits on a social issue.
Decline to answer the question people or give a non-answer answer. It’s politics. Not a time to testify in front of the Cross.
How often do these doofuses have to be told to shut the heck up???? Brat has it right....talk about policies of lowering spending, securing the border, getting the government out of our lives so we can grow
He does appear to have been affiliated with a local Tea Party Group:
http://www.okc912project.com/node/858
It notes a precinct walk in his behalf in 2010.
The TEA party does not believe gays are to be stoned. Only slate would believe that.
Oklahoma Republican thinks stoning gay people is okay
But, when asked by a reporter at the Moore Daily, an Oklahoma news website, to clarify his statements, Esk doubled down.
What I will tell you right now is that that was done in the Old Testament under a law that came directly from God, and in that time it was totally just, it came directly from God, Esk said.
I have no plans to reinstitute that in Oklahoma Law, Esk continued. I do have some very huge moral misgivings about those kinds of sins, and I think those kinds of sins will not do our country any good and certainly dont do anything to preserve the family.
