Gerald Ford Pardoned Richard Nixon.

And the pardon was considered invalid at the the time.

At any rate, the pardon was never needed because Nixon was never even prosecuted, much less convicted of any crime.

It's not obvious that Nixon ever did commit any crime that he could be prosecuted for .

The reason Nixon resigned was because he had lost the confidence of the American people and could no longer govern effectively so he did the honorable thing and resigned for the good of the country.

I can assure you, the Democrats on the Left out for his blood and would prosecuted him if there was any legitimate charges, pardon or no pardon.

One of many possible outcomes: Pre-selected Article 32 investigating officer to recommend to convening authority Field Grade Article 15, max allowable forfeiture of pay and allowances, reduction in grade from E-6 to E-5. Bar from re-enlistment. Honorable discharge.

Convening Authority goes with recommendation but suspends punishment until Bergdahl is processed out with an Honorable Discharge. Bergdahl essentially walks away unpunished.

Obammy gets full circle mission accomplished in freeing GITMO boys. Bergdahl fades away from the news cycle as Obammy moves to close GITMO down. The Army shows that it acted on Bergdahl's desertion and moves on...everyone washes their hands. Bergdahl later quietly and mysteriously dies of self inflicted injuries attributed to PTSD. Obammy sends condolences to Daddy and Mommy, brings them back for a WH photo op Bergdahl celebration of life ceremony and another chance for Obammy to get in some cheap feels. Daddy regrows his beard and swears lifelong jihad in honor of his dead son. Al Qaeda and the Taliban rejoice at their good fortune.

Not sure the President has that authority. How do you pardon someone for something they did not do? If you don’t investigate, make a case and convict then it never occurred.
Now if Bergdahl is convicted Obama will likely pardon him when he leaves office. But I do not see it happening before.

You have to be convicted of a crime before you can request pardon

Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon.

This was done to release these murderers in good faith that a quiet withdraw of US troops will be allowed and our very own criminals who concocked this for thier own benefits

Not sure the President has that authority.

He does. Recall that Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon from any federal charges that might arise.

Obama can do the same for Bergdahl. And Holder. And Lerner. And anybody else.

he doesn’t need to pardon the guy, he is the Commander in Chief and can stop any investigation and prosecution of this guy, even give him a medal. Heck he can promote him to Brigadier General.

Parents: never give your child a cutesie name with an alternate spelling. It may turn them into a self-defending narcissist to put up with all the bullying in school; then the minute they are old enough they will do something really stupid, and then you will have to learn Pashto in order to communicate with them.

Bergdalh will remain hospitalized until another “crisis” dominates the MSM news cycle, and then he will be declared 100% disabled due to PTSD as a result of his torture by the Taliban. Staff Sergeant Bergdahl will receive all his back pay and allowances (approx. $300,000), and due to his 100% PTSD disability, he will receive a Medical Retirement from the U.S. Army and live happily ever after on his tax free Staff Sergeant E-6 retirement pay.

Let's not forget the book deals and the reality tv show -- "Pashto with Bowe", or "Ghan Walkabout"...

However, there comes a time he’s no longer Commander-in-Chief...

Nixon resigned because his political support among Republicans in Congress had collapsed so his impeachment and removal was a foregone conclusion if he remained in office. By resigning he could leave with a bit more dignity and keep his retirement perks.

don’t think it’s permissible to have a preemptive pardon.

Ford's pardon of Nixon was mentioned as an example of a 'preemptive pardon'. What you have said may be true, but that does not change the fact of Ford's issuance of a pardon to him.
