From what I surmised and the message that should be out there is that Bergdahl could have walked away from he Taliban at any time.

He should not have deserted. I also find it interesting that this is leaked after we supposedly heard from a shadowy type group that he was kept in a cage and such.

I think perhaps a narrative has been cooked up by the government.

while Bergdahl is physically able to travel he's not yet emotionally prepared to be reunited with his family. He has not yet spoken to his family.
