When the GOP is in charge, it grows the federal government. When the GOP is in the minority, it opposes growing the government. A determined minority of 41 in the Senate can block almost everything.

Tend to agree...
Harry Reid is a huge stumbling block to any sort of effective governance, but seeing as how McConnell is the anti-Dem. nominee from KY, then deposing him NOW without also regaining the Senate majority doesn't seem to advance the cause much!

Wasn’t that Daschle?

So you are saying a Republican minority in the Senate is better for the country? I am not sure about that as a general proposition. But a Senate run by Mitch McConnell is not much different than one run by Harry Reid, and by defeating McConnell with conservative votes, we can get the Roves, Cornyns and Boehners to perhaps realize they have to work with us. Plus, we may get a better speaker. If there is a battle for the leadership, and the compromise candidate is Rubio or Ron Johnson or someone like that, we will be better off as a country. And we'll get Kentucky back soon enough.
McConnell is no different than Arlen Spector, except he is in charge of the Republican caucus. He needs to go.
