You should probably not rely on photos provided by Russian media.

Best solution: is all Ukrainians being able to vote in the national election but it is not likely the Russian terrorists in eastern Ukraine are going to allow that to happen.

Pew is perfectly credible. Who did they project the winner as being in the Bush years? Your world view requires us to believe that everybody who offers something contrary for the narrative put out by Moscow is part of a conspiracy theory.

The perception comes from Russian media. Svoboda and Right Sector are polling in the single digits. Not that you care, as you’ve been bad mouthing the Ukrainian people as Nazis all along.

It makes me sick how a few of the same freaks gather together in thread after thread where they suffocate reality. Freepers need to check the posting history of these people and analyze their campaign on FR..Its like they were all Pavlovian victims who’ve been triggered, or maybe they’re Paulbots switching to a new fixation.

“Seems like Europe is a beacon of freedom to you.”

You need to read the human rights reports and political freedom (or lack thereof) reports on Russia.

Equivocating Western Europe’s socialist ills to Russia’s autocratic government where journalist are jailed and killed for disagreeing with Putin...is absurd.

Donetsk and Luhansk represent far less than half; but the massacre at Odessa and the subsequent attempt to blame it on the Russians may well have lost much of the South.

But the question is, will Kiev let the East vote in the May 25 elections? The ultranationalists have burned any goodwill they had in the country. If there is a “fair” election that can affect real change, they will be voted out. This has to scare the heck outta Kiev.

If I were the East, I wouldn’t boycott or make any announcements till after the vote. They may get a Ukrainian government that they can work with. It may even fully support their autonomy.

lol! On the contrary, all the polling indicates the East and South does not support annexation. That's why the goons do NOT want the election to take place to begin with.

The candidate from Yanukovich’s party who supported federalism was beaten to within inches of his life by a mob and withdrew.

.......”I don’t understand how Kiev thinks it can keep Russian industry any more”........

Well, it's really not about the welfare of the people....it's about power and control of all Ukraine and who ultimately gains it. The industrial area is one part of the pie.

This is a US push to take Ukraine out of Russia's sphere in order to further isolate Russia from it's relationship with Europe,... while at the same time secure Ukraine's resources and industry as the monetary means to sustain whatever Gov. ultimately is there, and be able to pay their debt to the Eu and US for their involvement.....Otherwise it will continue to be a welfare state and none of the players want to “pay” for that.

Russia really does not want Ukraine assimilated into Russia....but in the end will negotiate for the deals similar to the past within the industry etc. throughout Ukraine.....that remains to be seen, but unless the Us/EU grab the Eastern area there is nothing else.

They are fighting Nazi's.....as well as all the Oligarch mercenaries and hired thugs bought and paid for. Pravy Sektor thugs were hired for the "special battalion Denjpr"... of the newly created "National Guard" and are 'paid by oligarch "Ihor Kolomoyskyi".....one very nasty and brutal player.

Know to have... used Privat's "quasi-military forces" to enforce hostile takeovers of companies, sending a team of "hired rowdies armed with baseball bats, iron bars, gas and rubber bullet pistols and chainsaws" to forcibly take over a Kremenchuk steel plant in 2006.

Additionally he has used a mix of phony court orders (often involving corrupt judges and/or registrars) and strong-arm tactics" to replace directors on the boards of companies he purchases stakes in.

Worse still he his directly linked with the Presidential Candidate....("She-devil"..so named by Ukrainians.) Ukrainian politician Yulia Tymoshenko and her Bloc Yulia. She has already threatened to raise her meltia to form another Maidan revolt if she is not elected Pres.

Though she attemped to use her "charm" (which she is also known to use flattery) during the US Rep's visit and gain their support she was not only denied this but when she attempted to visit the US recently...she was not received so her trip was cancelled.

Both of these people use Nazi groups to attin leverage and incite chaos....both were directly involved with the violence which catapulted the MAidan to a violent coup takeover of the Gov. These are not good people by any means. BTW...we did a spread on her on another thread showing her Nazi activism before she changed her appearance to blond and the image she projects today.

The snap elections of the president of Ukraine on May 25 will not take place at the territory of Donetsk republic.

This was announced by the chairman of the Central electoral commission of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic RomanLyagin.

....”Today the Central electoral commission if the DPR controls all 22regional electoral commissions”, as Lyagin noticed.... “So the presidential elections of Ukraine are not possible either technically or for security reasons on the territory of the DPR”.

I’m not sure what the defection rate is....enough that it’s increasing and Kiev Gov forced to use hired mercernaries and the like to do the business they are up to.

The problem that Kiev has with inviting the separatist “leaders” is nobody heard of them, they have no authority, they haven’t been elected, they’re unknown even among the Donbas masses. How do they represent Donbas? They found some AKs, stormed some buildings, kidnapped some hostages and are now leaders? - as one line of thinking goes.

Also hampering negotiating is the background of these people and the methods they’re using. You’re asking Ukrainian government to sit down with Peoples Governor Pavel Gubarev, a certified Russian Nazi (and that’s not an exaggeration that Putin cheerleaders throw around freely at Ukrainians, this guy is a Nazi) or commander Strelkov, a Russian FSB officer who may or may not be acting on behalf of Russia (he says he’s not) or another “leader” Denis Pushilin, whose only accomplishment in life is that he helped operating a Ponzi scheme (MMM) Half of these guys have criminal pasts, and Ukraine is to sit down with them? There are horror stories coming out of the occupied territories, people gone missing, robbed, etc. but Ukraine is to legitimize them by sitting down with them at the same table.

Whatever business and political leaders Donbas does have, separatists are not working with them. The big one - Akhmetov said that he wants Donbas in Ukraine, that should’ve solved it, but no, the separatists are still there. Kiev’s problem is there’s nobody to sit down with.

Eastern half is an exaggeration. Separatists control about half of Donbas

Caww, what am I going to do with you? Why would you post a video of fake “Ukrainian officer” to mislead these good people?
Tsk, tsk, tsk

OK, here it goes: the guy on the video is a blogger from Vladivostok (Russian city near Korea), Dmitrii Dmitriev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcJL4ZcXSzc

The guy is a former cop.
According to this Russian nazi website he got expelled from their club because he’s a faggot and pedophile (they give transcripts of his chats) http://ns-tribunal.livejournal.com/94307.html
