“I have dozens of friends who cannot celebrate Mother’s Day with their kids because their kids were killed with a gun”
There’s a nice absolving of the perpetrators.
These people keep yammering on about “common sense” gun laws. And, you know what, I’m ready to get on board with that discussion.
First, let’s talk about reforming the 1934 National Firearms Act, by removing the notorious tax on suppressors and automatic firearms. Guns can be noisy, so it’s just “common sense” that you should be able to fit a suppressor to reduce the noise volume.
Second, it’s time to acknowledge the racist roots of the 1968 Gun Control Act, and at minimum, eliminate the “sporting purposes” limitation on imported firearms.
Third, the crime-reducing and life-saving effects of “shall issue” CCW laws are beyond honest debate. Let’s get a national CCW reciprocity law passed.
Just a start, mind you, but one has to start somewhere.
Lady, if you feel that frightened over the mere thought of a gun, feel free to buy yourself a lifetime supply of diapers, because they’ll be more beneficial in the long run than trying to get me to give up my guns.
