No they don’t have to do anything, but they do. Conservatives need to make companies aware there will be consequences for going hard left.
dolphins can go suck an egg.
They’ve been worthless and adrift since they set axed Shula.
I’m done watching the NFL unless they fix this injustice to Don Jones.
“maybe you belong on another website.”
Why? Because I can think for myself? Because I’m not blindly following the sheep? Because I have the balls to say “I don’t agree”.
And I never said it didn’t bother me. I said - It’s not worth all the angst around the issue.
Well said
I disagree.. Stating it isn’t worth the angst is giving up on the issue and giving the leftist scum a victory.
I hear you. But what issue are we talking about here exactly? The fact that the kiss happened at all? The fact that it was shown on TV? Or the post broadcast debate about it all?
I’m against same sex marriage. But I really don’t care if they are involved in relationships. That just doesn’t impact me much. And while I think that ESPN used poor judgement in airing that picture - because all it was going to do was elicit reaction - which I suppose is why they did it - the kiss itself is just not that big a deal.
I have seen many straight couples goign at it way more than that and have uttered the classic “Get a Room” line many times. It’s about tact in general is all I’m saying.
And simply because we don’t agree - why is it that every time this happens on this sites, someone’s first reaction is: “Maybe you should go to DU or something”....
Please, is that what we’ve become here. ZERO tolerance? If that’s the case, then maybe I DO belong elswhere.
By all means....Feel free to preach somewhere else.
He’s not “gay”...I so wish the timid would stop using the leftist’s and homo agenda’s terminology when discussing them.
He’s a QUEER or HOMOSEXUAL because there’s absolutely nothing “gay” about fudge packers.
Just sayin’...
So you are comfortable with people losing their jobs, losing their businesses and--like Don Jones--being forced to grovel as they are sent away to reeducation camps...but at the same time you get your pink panties in a bow when posters at Free Republic weigh in against you?
Oh it must be wonderful to be as comfortable and composed and tolerant as you...it's just too bad that all your friends in the homo community aren't as laid back, so to speak, as your glorious self.
“The Dolphins are a private organization. They, like the NBA, can regulate the speech of their employees as they wish”
Spot on. And the NBA is a partnership - like any other, law firms, cpa firms, whatever. In the partnership agreement and by-laws, it says that if the other partners vote you out for “conduct detrimental to the league” by a 75% vote, you’re out. Sterling will tie this up in court, but he’ll lose eventually.
Don Jones hasn’t lost his job. And I can’t even count how many times I’ve had to attend “sensitivity training” at various jobs as a matter of course in the past. Not to mention the numerous corporate policies I have to acknowledge. This is no different than any other business, but because it’s the NBA or the NFL we hear about it.
The common denominator is that all of these businesses are trying to protect themselves from being sued. Period.
True enough. My Mom used to say that the thing she disliked most about homosexuals was that they took a perfectly good word like “gay” and ruined it!
My point, if I have one, is that by using their terminology, we legitimize the “definition”...I don’t ever want to do that.
We need to discuss/debate these issues on equal or on our terms, not the left’s.
Btw, NFL, if you’re trolling...Besides blocking your network, I won’t be tuning into any games on any of the networks that carry them. In addition, ESPN and all of it’s affiliates are now blocked in our home...we are very close to cutting cable and I do believe I almost have the missus convinced to give it up.
You can’t read any better than you think.
I didn’t say Don Jones lost his job.
Have you heard of Mozilla? Brendan Eich? It’s irritating even to have to tutor a pink-panty man like you in these matters-—there are business owners all across the country who will be forced to bow to your homo friends or shut their doors.
The good news for you is that your sensitivity training certainly has done its work.
The bad news for us is that the country is filled with sensitive “tolerant” types like you and the NFL brass.
