I was wondering what the kid was doing in the guy’s garage.

The press is intentionally not discussing the FACT that this kid was robbing the house.I figured that the AP would have left that out of their story. I didn't read it for two reasons: I didn't want to give them a hit and I didn't want my blood pressure raised.

“I was wondering what the kid was doing in the guys garage.”
Look at post #29. He had a flashlight. He did not accidently stray into the garage from the street. He was on a mission to steal something. BANG! Good riddance.

Maybe the father should criticize his bad parenting for raising a thief.

Neah. Can't bait ‘em.
But the only thing he should be convicted of is “discharging a firearm within city limits” or “creating a public nuisance.”

The jerk should have taught his kid not to break into other people’s homes and property.

Cops can bait them. Why different rules for cops and civilians? If it was not them, it would have been someone else victimized.
This is proper use of a firearm.

Actually, I don’t think cops can bait crooks. It is called “entrapment.” Rememer Abscam?

That’s been walked back some, otherwise “bait cars” for auto thieves wouldn’t have gotten off the ground.
