.....su24 is more like the F111. i think you are confusing with SU25....

I am so embarrassed that I am resigning from the crew of the "Donald Cook!" If we have a destroyer named "Donald Duck," I will immediately re-enlist and volunteer for Black Sea duty.

Renfield, internalize what LaV said.

True. Use of EW measures preemptively against a US warship is an act of war. There, fixed it.

Hard to believe........but would not be surprised by our diminishing sea power under our current commie/socialist administration. They’ve cut the military, brought in women and homosexuals to help run fighting ships.....we’re in deep do do.

Considering that Russia a few months ago trumpeted that the Ukrainian Navy’s flagship had defected while it was returning from exercises with NATO, tells you something. The ship docked at Odessa rather than sailing to Sevastopol and surrendering.

The Russian flight was a PR gimmick. The news and story line plays well in Moscow and it’s music to the ears of pro Russkis everywhere.

"Baghdad Bob has finally obviously come out of retirement to personally take charge of Russia’s Ministry of Communications and Mass Media."

LOL! Dang, I miss that joker: "We have them surrounded in their tanks. We have beaten them with our shoes, and we will roast their stomachs in Hell!"

While this article is likely BS, we know the Russians, and the Chinese, have been working on countermeasures for US tech for years now.

GPS spoofers we already know about. Sat attack systems and Drone communications scramblers have been publicly talked about, while EMP bursters have been rumored for over a decade now.

Who knows what else is in the pipeline, especially with Chinese cooperation.

We can’t expect our opponents are going to sit idly by while we go stagnant.

Thank you Russia! A free demonstration of your most advanced jamming system. Millions of dollars saved in the costs of mounting a major espionage effort. Russians are such dumbasses. Just appeal to their very real sense of inferiority by threateningly maneuvering naval assets (one itty-bitty destroyer) in their backyard and here they come a running, beating their chests and we get the info we need for free.

Yeah, like Obama is going to do anything about that. Maybe he’ll retaliate by playing another round of golf and finish it with a steam bath for him and Reggie Love.

That’ll show those Russkies!

I actually once had a USAF Staff Sergeant try to resign her non-commission. I said to her, well fine, Airman Basic Smith, just sign here...

Used to be one could “resign” by claiming to be a poofter...but there is no getting out of an enlistment contract in such a fashion...

You make a good point. This is what a Strategy of Technology is all about. Unfortunately, all we seem to have today is a strategy of blather, Muslim appeasement and outreach, and military capability decline. We must fund those vote-buying programs first.

beh.

That aircraft was detected WAY out and the ship wasn't going to fire absent being fired upon.

If ROE changes to "fire on detection and confirmation of target", everything changes.

That's not to say that I would dismiss Russian capabilities out of hand. They are making a small quantity of good stuff and revolutionizing their C3. Of course they are a formidable power now, and getting stronger.

Modern digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) poses a real threat to currently fielded radar systems. DRFM is cheap compared to the systems it attempts to defeat. The incumbent AEGIS contractor seems to be more concerned with protecting its proprietary position than protecting the Navy or the U.S. Just mho.
