“What the majority wants is unsustainable, and history shows that it is the path to a totalitarian government.”
It strikes me that it’s much easier for a common culture to deny itself the goodies that government offers to dole out at the expense of their children. But when there is no common-culture, then the central government becomes the auctioneer at a bidding contest between the pols representing competing groups. Everybody loses in the long-run because the future is being mortgaged.
He who controls the language, controls the arguement.
Too bad the news media and MSM are so incestuously entwined into this administration .
This is the way they control discussion , and control the arguement.
Race, always the deepest and most volatile fault line in American history.
Wonder how many will vacation in Chicago this summer?.
If you're in your 50s as I am... at least we have the memories of the heady days of the Reagan era, and before it, the greatness and leadership America showed on a variety of fronts.
We have had a truly great run.
Why would he say that, the switch was made in the 1936 election, not almost 30 years later.
It is that, or at least "whiter" than the Democrats. But I reckon my point is that it is an AGING white party. Young white people ... especially young female white people ... are increasingly in coalition with African-Americans and the other grab-bag of Democrat constituencies, white, brown, yellow, and black.
Perhaps there is Republican hay to be made among the OLDER members of these groups. As in "Older but Wiser?"
I’m wondering if young whites’ self preservation instincts will kick in, in the event they find their ‘allies’ to be unsympathetic. Or perhaps those have been bred out of them as well.
There are two views of government:
(1)Government is to "help" people.
(2)Government should be minimal so people can help themselves.
The young have been so crushed by the proponents of (1), and "political correctness," that it is a part of their psyche. Many, perhaps most, cannot see it any other way.
Their religion is government.

Excellent point, and it helps to explain how we got to this point.

I am on the long side of 50. We did indeed have a great run. We were united, more or less. And we believed America was the best at everything, even if it wasn’t. We knew our families would prosper, and our kids would have ample opportunity. It was glorious.
Nonsense.
America need not collapse.
I concur completely.
However someone needs to be on our own nations side.
Like someone running on a constitutional platform?
Everyone is sold out.
Someone needs to stand up strong, and for America.
Like a Jeffersonian Anti-Federalist Democrat challenging a RINO sell-out? Unfortunately, many claim to want an honest statesman to run for office and challenge the establishment, but few will actually support one.

Nah. Not while unlimited money talks.
“It takes the rats arguments off the table as there would be no way to defend their position without accepting that they are responsible for voter fraud and disenfranchisement.”
Or it would if the Democrats argued rationally. When was the last time that happened?
