I lived in Rhode Island, Providence for a time......you are right it’s cold up there...and when I was there the snow was deep all the time! Summers were cooler as well I thought.
But Providence was just going through their revitalization project so the city was all torn up then. Traffic was the worst nightmare ever!....
Still it was fun ..I loved going to Thayer St. watching all the people walk by when sitting at a outdoor cafe’. Near Brown University you saw all the foreign students...which was quite the show.
I did go to Boston a couple times...and actually worked in Mass. funny thing about R.I. 30 minutes and you’re in another state!
That looks inviting.....but I’d take an Island somewhere like that.
When in Florida I was in Jacksonville and the beach there wasn’t anything like your picture at all. Down near Saw Grass Golf Club is where I saw the alligators. Couldn’t hardly believe they roamed about there.
My family use to rent a condo on the beach...you could see the ocean come in right beneath the deck ! I remember the sound kept me awake it was so loud....and potato chips got stale very quickly from the sea mist...lolol.
Providence is a tough city in which to drive, but Rhode Island is a beautiful state. It also has some wonderful restaurants. We’re only about 25 to 30 minutes from RI, so we visit there often, particularly for dinner.
Boston is a wonderful city. I love walking in the north end.
We love the gulf side of Florida, and particularly Anna Maria island and Naples. We have relatives in Palmetto, Lakeland and Orlando, with friends in The Villages and the Port Charlotte area, as well as other areas, too numerous to mention (or remember). :)
I love being near water, and can’t really imagine being too far from it. Both of my parents were in the Navy. Hmmm...
