Is there a word of history anywhere from that time period which has a negative thing to say about Robert E Lee? I have read a few books about the war and that time period, and it appears that everyone alive at that time, north or south, regarded Gen Lee as the ideal man.

These people have no understanding of history. Lexington is a beautiful town that honors what was best about both Lee and Jackson. If these people get their way, it's only a matter of time until Lee chapel is torn down and Jackson's statue is removed from in front of the VMI barracks.

Read the article and as a follow up the 7 losers are law school students. It was RE Lee who added a law school when he was president of the university. This is like taking a Rhodes Scholarship to study across the pond then complaining about what a horrible person Cecil Rhodes is. If you think RE Lee is such a horrible person then don’t attend a law school he created.

The Dumbasses need to take some remedial history courses away from Marxist. Racism as it is known today existed in the north and south all the way up to POTUS before, during, and after the Civil War. The Civil War was a war over economics and states rights to self rule. Slavery was legal in many states in the north up to the day of the first shots fired. Many of the Generals on both sides of the war were former West Point Classmates and settled their differences after the war. That included Grant and Lee. Also ignored in modern history is the fact Lincoln was a segregationist. His intentions or his idea was to return slaves to nation of origin.
